Period or implantation bleeding? NWR, possibly TMI

I probably should join a baby forum but I haven't. I went off the pill the end of July. I have always been a regular girl, even going on and off BC in the past. Today I started my period, but it is a week earlier than expected. I read on various websites that implantation bleeding occurs about a week before the period is expected. So now I am very excited at the prospect that I might actually be preggo the first month of trying. I realize that it is more likely my period and the timing is off due to stopping the pill. I should find out in a few days since implantation bleeding is shorter than a real period...I just need to be patient. Anyone else find the wait to be difficult?
