Period Sex yayyyy

Erica, on November 11, 2019 at 1:23 AM Posted in Fitness and Health 0 15
So my wedding is in 5 days!!! I’ll be on my period unfortunately the night of our wedding night. Any advice on how to not let a period ruin you day/night?

Are you on any kind of birth control? I know with my pills I can go right into the next back and essentially skip my period, if needed.

Just do it lol literally. Don’t let it ruin your night! This all depends of course on your FH feelings on period sex.

take a shower right before (it momentarily stops a lot of bloodshed plus you’ll feel all clean and fresh) put a towel down not to ruin the sheets, turn the lights down low so no one can really see what’s happening in terms of fluids. And just shower afterwards.

or shower sex so it all just washes away at the same time.

sorry to be so blunt but hey, we all get periods and sex is normal so go for it!

A lot of people I know didnt even have sex on their wedding night because they were so tired. If you don't want to have sex on your period, it's no big deal. But, I've also had period sex and it's fine. But, it really depends on how you feel. If you're at the point of feeling bloated and crampy, you may want to wait. You don't want to remember the first time you had sex married as uncomfortable. But, if you feel fine, but are bleeding I say go for it. Just talk to your fiance.

Get some birth control pills and start a new pack to make it stop. I'm sure your gyno would prescribe you some. It will be fine either way but I know I feel meh during my time of the month and that's not a way I want to be feeling on my wedding day!

Look up softcup. You can get them at CVS. It's kind of like a divacup but it goes up in there and you can totally have sex with it in there. Put a fresh one in before you start to lessen leak risk. I have done this multiple times when I still had a period (on continuous BC now). Your guy MIGHT be able to feel it but it's honestly nbd.

    Yes, Brittany, yes!

Erica, as Amber said, you might be too tired to do it anyway, or you might be bloaty and crampy. But if you're not, then everything Brittany's saying would be great ideas! Definitely take some of that advice! If your FH is OK with it, and you're OK with it, then you can definitely work it out. I mean... shower sex could definitely be a memorable way to start off your marriage. Smiley catface

I'm set to start mine on the day of our wedding as well but I'm OK with that because our honeymoon will be the following week and I'd rather not be on while we're honeymooning it up!

If you have the energy for sex after all that, you are super woman. The only thing I could recommend is to take a couple of ibuprofen a couple hours before, grab a towel you don't care about, and do it.

I'm 50 and had not had a period in about 2 years, then BAM I start one a week before. I know people hear a week and think "oh it'll be done in time" they don't know that when I have one it's periodmageddon! It's bad. I was afraid of staining my dress, having cramps..all that. What I did was try and make it go faster by drinking tea and water and peeing out what I could. It helped and day off I just had to wear a liner to be saf

I absolutely loved your straight forward response! You made me feel so much better about this lol. FH doesn’t mind at all it’s just me being all sad because of course we’d all love to just be all clean and sexy lol. BUT my period came early!!! I got it tonight so hopefully it’s light on Saturday ( my period usually last 6 days) but at least I won’t be on my first day the day of my wedding 😭🤗

My gynecologist prescribed some estrogen pills to take a couple days before the wedding and it will essentially make me miss a period. My periods are irregular though.

Girl as long as you guys are fine with it, do it! Go in the shower if its on the heavier side, or like someone else said shower right before so its light. Also if you use tampons when you take them off you're pretty clean and dry down there so it may help to wear one until you're ready.

I recently tried something called “Flex” as a tampon alternative. They advertise that you can have mess free period sex when using it. I didn’t try it for that, but I had a good experience using Flex... might be worth a try.
