What if your “Aunt Flo” is supposed to be coming to town right before your wedding? Any advice?

So I got mine literally in the middle of my shower this weekend... could’ve been better timing lol. But seriously I get some of the worst cramps ever and, after taking a painkiller, I was fine after a half hour. I never thought I would be one to say that but... the adrenaline and excitement seriously dulls the pain.

All I can say is, bring pain killers and let your happiness be a distraction!

I am on the pill so if my period is supposed to fall on my wedding/honeymoon week then I’ll skip my white pills and start a new pack so hopefully my period won’t come and I’ll skip it. Probably not the healthiest but I don’t want to deal with it

I would talk to your doctor before deciding to skip periods on birth control. Not every birth control is designed to allow you to skip periods.

If you are on a 28 day cycle birth control method you can easily just continue your pack, skip your placebo week & enter into the next week. I've done this and recommended patients do this for trips of special events. As I'm sure you know the pill isn't 100% effective anyway, so avoid intercourse or use a backup (condoms) during ovulation, take it on time every day, etc.

That is supposed to work. My doc gave me a 3 month birth control pill. I am not going to start taking them until a month before the wedding and stop them when we return from our honeymoon. I habe 4 children and my tubes r tied so i have no need for BC im taking them solely to prevent my period for my wedding.

If you are on the pill skip the blank ones. Wait until you get home from the honeymoon.

I took the pill continually when I had endometriosis. It's safe , per my Doctor.
    Good luck

So mine was supposed to come a week and a half after our wedding. As luck would have it, it showed up three days before. Yay. I have to say, it's already a pain in the youknowwhere going to the bathroom in a wedding dress without a period, so having my period that day was awful! Lol.

If you're on the pill and can skip the placebos then you can do it, but you could still have spotting. Personally I'd rather deal with my period than unknown days of spotting.

Your wedding is still far, I’d suggest you go to your Gyn a few months before (2-3), they can “reset” your periods in a similar way PP suggested with the contraceptive pills (a better one, actually...) You can talk to the doctor about it and have those pills 2 weeks before the wedding, you’ll get it the week before and you’ll be clear for your honeymoon. But beware, you’ll be fertile then.

Other options, especially if you don’t want to have kids right away and your beliefs allow it, would be to discuss with your physician the contraceptive options that can make you have no periods (or very light ones). However, I think this is a topic of conversation more suited for you and your physician.

I also recommend using birth control to move your period, but I would try it out before your big day. Even though it's not a problem for me medically to skip my period, the first time I tried to skip the placebo week, my emotions went totally crazy and I really wasn't myself. Now if I want to control when it comes, I start months in advance, taking one or two less placebo pills each month, so it naturally comes when I want it to by the time I get to the month I was concerned with.

I know a lot of people have no trouble with skipping the full week of placebo pills, but just in case hormones effect your emotions like mine, I'd try it out at least once before then. Good luck!

I've used the pill to postpone my period for vacas in the past. Works well if you do it correctly. That's what my doctor recommended.

So, lol I happen to know a perfect solution to this. I’m a makeup artist for adult (xxx) performers. And I learned this from them. Use 2 wedge makeup sponges, don’t pull them apart. If you want to have sexy time to consummate lol, you take your pad off/tampon out, wipe well and push those suckers as far up as you can. They will block everything for at least 3-4 hours and though a lil tricky to grab out it works like a charm....the girls I do makeup on use it when they shoot movies and they are on their period Smiley winking so it’s a pro tip.

Wedding day will be day one of my period 🤦🏾‍♀️ (pray for my bridesmaids lol). I use a menstrual cup for my periods anyway. It's the best thing ever. My wedding isn't until later in the evening so I'm sure the cup will get me through the night. I'll have pain/bloat meds handy & lots of chocolate lol
