Periods and wedding days...

Mel, on August 2, 2016 at 3:39 AM Posted in Fitness and Health 0 57

Ok so i need to rant because im pissed off! maybe tmi but i stared my period today. . I have an app on my phone call period tracker and i log all my periods when they start and end and symptoms ect.. Well now its estimating that im going to start my period again on aug 27th! My fricken wedding day!! I did start 3 days early then it had predicted but i think it was from stress. But now im super mad. I can't be on my period on my wedding day. Ughh there are so many reasons this will suck. Im wearing white, ill have cramps, my face will be broke out, ill be extra fucking moody, bloated, and it will be real fun to try and change a tampon in a wedding dress. Also icing on the cake no sex on my wedding night.. But anyway anyone else have this problem and anyone have any tricks to having a more enjoyable, symptom free period,,, if thats possible?? Ugh rant over.

I use a period tracker too and it's almost always wrong...it's usually off by several days. You're going to have to wait and see as the day gets closer. Don't panic yet!

Start wishing you'll get your period and your body will do the opposite to piss you off Smiley tongue

    KIDDING, kidding, don't do that.

You might dodge that bullet just yet, is your period tracker accurate usually?

Birth control. I skip my sugar pills and go to the next pack to skip it. Might be late for you to start though.

I would relax one or two times in bath tub for around 1/2 hour. Also drink oranges. It helped me.

Get on birth control in the weeks leading up to the wedding. Ask your OBGYN how to time it so that you can delay your period until after the wedding. Period sex isn't that bad though! FH and I just put down an old towel or do it in the shower.

Birth control takes up to a month to get used to and until the body adapts, she may have spotting - which is worse than a period as it's so random and you can't even wear a tampon for it.

My OB discussed this with me in regards to my wedding. Go see an OB they can give you your b/c (if you don't already have it) and your good to go girl!!

I wear white on my period all the time. I don't understand what that issue is at this point. In high school, sure I'd avoid white but at this point I'm guessing you've had your period for at least 10 years, you should be able to handle it without bleeding through to your wedding dress. Unless you're on birth control, there's nothing you can do.

Talk to your doctor about the possibilities of Norethisterone. i think in the US it's PRIMOLUT N.

it's not for everyone, but a friend of mine took it to delay her period for her wedding. she just felt a little bloaty but other than that, all good.

Im not on any birth control. But i could call my dr and see if she thinks its to late to get started on one. and normally my app is pretty close. maybe up to 3 days early or late. But either way i just wish i wasent even gonna be that close to starting because ill have all the symptoms a week before.

I use the same app. I'm supposed to be off the day before my wedding. But mine is often wrong by a few days.

So if it's wrong and I'm on my period my wedding day I will have the same concerns!

Especially about being bloated and looking awful.

    And cramps.

I'm not on birth control so there's no way I can manipulate it.

A friend of mine suggested getting on birth control so I could keep taking the pills and skip it. Something she does quite often but is probably not the healthiest.

The stress might change your schedule a little bit, so you might not actually get it on your wedding day. If you're not on the pill now, trying to get on it and start it this month is probably not going to work (and you don't know what kinds of other physiological side effects you might have). My advice would be to not think about it and be grateful that we live in the age of tampons.

Oh and as far as bloating....just drink a lot of water from now until the wedding. I cut out alcohol and excessively salty/sugary food/drink the months leading up to my wedding to help with bloating. I felt fantastic. I also was supposed to get my period on my wedding day, but I skipped the white pills in my BC pack...I don't recommend that either. It was the first time I did it. I got my period the day AFTER my wedding and had a light period for 3 weeks straight. I'm never tricking nature again (the Pill is as tricky as I'll get)

I used my period tracker to ensure that I was not on my period during my wedding or honeymoon. Luckily mine stayed on track, I am sorry that yours did not end up in your favor.

    Date Twin!!

I use the app too and I was scheduled to be on mine until this last cycle. It seems that it's always off by a couple days I think it was 2 days this time. I can't take birth control pills so that has been a no go. Definitely following so I can get some ideas too.

Also, just in case anyone is unaware, you can totally have sex while on your period. Stick a towel down.

I'm super worried about this happening because I started my period again after having my daughter in June and pre-pregnancy it was always around the 1st of the month and low and behold it's the same way now. So now I have a feeling I'll have it on my wedding day since I'm getting married 10/1.

Stress will do crazy things to your cycle.

I was on the pill when I got married...and my period showed up a week late. I started the morning after the wedding.

    1. Calm down. Having your cycle on your wedding day is not the end of the world.

    2. How do you normally deal with your symptoms? Do that.

    3. You CAN still have sex that night you know. Lay a towel down, and shower together afterwards. Tada!!!
