Ok so i need to rant because im pissed off! maybe tmi but i stared my period today. . I have an app on my phone call period tracker and i log all my periods when they start and end and symptoms ect.. Well now its estimating that im going to start my period again on aug 27th! My fricken wedding day!! I did start 3 days early then it had predicted but i think it was from stress. But now im super mad. I can't be on my period on my wedding day. Ughh there are so many reasons this will suck. Im wearing white, ill have cramps, my face will be broke out, ill be extra fucking moody, bloated, and it will be real fun to try and change a tampon in a wedding dress. Also icing on the cake no sex on my wedding night.. But anyway anyone else have this problem and anyone have any tricks to having a more enjoyable, symptom free period,,, if thats possible?? Ugh rant over.

@O&S haha! The wonders of the internet of course! Plus they have amazing stories!! Most of those user submitted sex tips on Cosmo are bogus or not what I'm into, gimme the experienced professional porn star's point of view!

The only apps that work to properly predict when your period is going to come are proper fertility apps, fertility friend or Kindara are really good. You have to take your temp every day though, and you need at least 2-3 months to baseline. You should really know your cycle, for instance I knew I had a 12/11 cycle even before I started temping, it just confirmed it.

Skip it with birthcontrol. I dont recommend doing this all the time but to skip for a special occasion its fine.

Other than that theres no way to avoid it. I'm sorry, that sucks

So this question is totally NSFW and might be over the line...

But I'm gonna ask it anyways...

If you have a diva cup or something else in there, does it feel the same/just as good? (For you, not him)

Sorry if that's too far hahah I have no experience with diva cups and am not super interested in this porn star sex advice!

Mel -- I feel you girl. My wedding is also on August 27 and I've been tracking my period for the last 18 months of planning. It looked like I would be on my happy-great-skin-great-mood-and-extra-sexy phase up until the last three months or so, and I got more period yesterday afternoon. I. am. PISSED. But I'm trying to think of my insanely incredible, frenemy body this way: it's telling me it's starting over. It's closing the book on the last phase of life and entering into a new one. Periods are the worst, but they also signify something incredible about ourladyselves. You're still going to look super sexy and have the time of your life.

@Jessie: Yes! I wasn't going to give app suggestions because I fully expect in a few months to have people complaining on here that the app just isn't ever right. *eyeroll*

I actually do have a regular 28/29 day cycle and a 14-day LP, and it can still occasionally be early or late a couple days every now and then from early or late ovulation.

I am genuinely confused, why can't you have sex on your period? Why do so many people think this (esp. Women)? I have had sex during my period in all of my relationships. I guess this depends on the heaviness of your period, but we don't even put a towel down. I don't mean to be TMI, but jizz (sorry mods!) Tends to ameliorate the effect of the blood. He doesn't end up with any appreciable blood on him, and I get up and pee a few minutes later to prevent UTIS as usual. But I could be weird, I just see no reason to place punitive measures on my sex life because of a monthly biological occurrence.

@Sarah, some people just don't like it? I mean in the end who cares why, she said no sex during her period, she doesn't need to justify why.

As an example, -I- have no problem with sex on it but FH isn't a fan. So no intercourse. *shrug*

I agree, the act of sex.. it's like it hits pause on my period during the act but FH is just not down with it.

Look guys, I can understand these posts. Who wants to double over in a toilet in a poofy, WHITE wedding gown trying to change tampons?

@Spirit: realistically though, she doesn't really have to, even. If I found out my period was going to fall on my wedding day, I would absolutely use a Softcup, which can be worn for 12 hours (more if you just expect to start that day and don't actually start until say, midday) before it has to be emptied, and then depending on the cup, you either clean and reinsert, or insert a new one.

Would I suggest learning how to use them beforehand? Sure. But realistically, with the options that are available today, there is zero reason a woman should have to change her pad or tampon on her wedding day.

Honestly, putting in and taking out a tampon isn't that hard. I've never once gotten it on my clothes no matter what I was wearing. I'd prob have my sister hold the dress and tell her to suck it up and look away.

ETA: but I'm on the pill so I'll be OK

@mna: I see - we don't have them here, no idea something like this even existed in other countries. Here it's either tampon or pads or BC.

I'm setting my wedding for next October with the period tracker!!' Smiley sad I am so moody and my FH keeps saying it's ok if you're on your period ... if you have your period don't drink and take Advil, advil cuts the "bleeding" I hope ur period starts/finishes before the wedding ... or see if you can take birth control

I'm on the nueva ring or however you call it, and it's awesome! It doesn't take long for your body to adjust and you can keep it in during the week when you would get a period and you don't bleed or cramp! If you take the ring out the bc lasts for three hours before you need to put it back in! I would for sure ask about it

I could be totally wrong, but doesn't advil thin your blood, hence you would in theory bleed more? ETA: not medical advice and I possibly have this backwards...

@Spirit: where are you from? I thought menstrual cups were pretty widely available!

@Sarah: it does. It can also prolong your period, as can aspirin.

I understand not wanting to be on your period on your wedding day. I'm a grown woman that still fears wearing khaki or white shorts/pants on my period.

So I refuse to be on my period on my wedding day, I'm on the pill so I'm prepared to skip the sugar pills because I expect my period to fall the week of my wedding.

As easy as others make it sound about just changing out a tampon . That's one less thing I want to deal with on that day. I hope it works out and you'll be period free on your day.
