Permanent bustle?

Mary, on March 11, 2018 at 12:29 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 3
My dress has 3 layers- one layer of satin and two top layers of lace. When I went in for my fitting, the seemstress said she would bustle them in 2 layers, one for the satin and one for the lace. I went to get my dress today and realized the satin layer was permanently bustled. At first I didn’t notice a difference but after I took it home I saw that if unbustled, the train was just two layers of lace and you can see the ground under it- having the same effect as a veil. I don’t love the look but can’t decide if I dislike it. I noticed when unbustled, the intricate lace stands out better but looks less rich. Anyone else have experiences with permanently bustling a layer? Is this common?

I’ve heard of a permanent bustle, but not just for one layer. Do you have pictures?

I would check if the satin bustled underneath? I haven't had my second fitting yet, but at my first I noticed that my satin liner was pinned underneath, and my two lace layers were bustled on top. You should be able to unbutton both if she did it think way...

I'm surprised she did that without discussing it with you. Can we see pictures of it bustled and unbustled? If you want it the original way you envisioned it I'd head back to the shop and see if this adjustment can be made
