Personal gift for pianist?

FutureMrsKC, on December 14, 2018 at 2:37 PM Posted in Wedding Ceremony 0 15

So the woman playing the piano for our wedding ceremony has been in my life for about 10 years. When we asked her to play the piano for our ceremony she was so honored and its super special to both of us that she is doing this!

So, she is playing for free. We offered to pay her but she refused so now I'm getting down to the wire with organizing vendor tips/gifts. We are tipping all of the vendors, and giving the DOC a small gift on top of her tip because shes awesome.

What do I get our pianist? I want it to be special, and not just money in a thank you card. She is very geeky. Loves Apple products, cameras, music (obviously) shes very musically talented. I don't just want to get her whatever and it not be personal or feel like I put no effort into it.

What's a good option, probably under $50(?) that she can fly home with? TIA!

If it were me I’d want a pretty necklace and a restaurant gift card

A necklace may work since it's small, but she loves small town restaurants and craft beer breweries so I wouldn't feel comfortable getting her a gift card to a chain restaurant not knowing if she'd go.

So there’s a piano shape mahogany jewelry box at things remembered, it is $60 tho but it’s really pretty so that was the first thing that came to mind. Could look into music note shaped jewelry or piano shaped jewelry. Not sure what to suggest for cameras, maybe an accessory for her camera like a stand or a special lense? Good luck! I’m sure she’ll appreciate whatever you decide on.

They usually do gift cards too you just have to walk in and ask instead of getting them off the shelf at Walmart etc. just a suggestion!

That's so awesome! I'm sure she is so excited to be a part of your day! My first idea was maybe a new music book for her? She may have a lot already but I think it could be cool to give her something new to play!

You could do a vintage metronome, or even a personalized one. Maybe a bound keepsake book of sheet music being used for your wedding?

Hi FutureMrsKC! I have a great idea! My grandmother is actually a professional pianist, and one of the best gifts we ever gave to her was a framed piece of music that she had played in one of her concerts! Maybe you could frame the song you walk down the aisle to in a lovely wooden frame! Just an idea! Smiley smile

A $50 restaurant gift card is cool, they now have the ones that you can use them at like 5 different places.

I love this idea, too! I even love the idea of getting a frame that has two openings, putting the music on one side and a picture of us from the wedding on the other!

Honestly, a restaurant gift card, money, a bottle of wine, or simple necklace/earrings would be my go to. I'm a musician as well and I get many many adorable ornaments and little trinkets shaped like different instruments. I have so many I don't know what to do with them anymore. However...I always enjoy a nice night out to relax.

I like the idea of getting her a gift card. Just because she is a musician doesn't mean she wants items shaped like different instruments. (I play the piano but would not care for music shaped jewelry/trinkets.) And like the PP said she may already have lots of these trinkets. But a nice night out enjoying dinner, a spa day, or even a local concert would be nice

We have a friend who is a cellist and we are in the same boat. Etsy has phenomenal gifts. I found our cellist a custom engraved rosin box that has a magnet on the back so she can store it in her case and it’s refillable.

I would highly suggest looking at Etsy under pianist gifts.
