Petal pattern for Aisle runner-has anyone done this?

MySharrona, on January 1, 2012 at 3:19 PM Posted in Do It Yourself 0 12

Has anyone done an aisle like the one below? And if so.…approx how many rose petals did it take? They come in bulk but I have no idea if this would take 2000 or 6000. If someone has done this…an approx amount for each swirl would be much appreciated.

I like the idea, but I wonder what happens when you walk over them and ruin the pretty pattern? Smiley sad

@Jen L: I thought the same thing but the FH and I both really like it. I'll just tell the BM and GM to step carefully...and then I get to wreck it! Bwahahahaha Smiley smile

I've been waiting to work with a bride who wants this.

on www.theflowerexchange.com you can purchase the petals, enough to cover prox. a 5ft. diameter table for $199

This sounds like it could potentially be enough.

They claim that it is essentially 200 roses plucked.

Sharron...if you don't want your bridal party to ruin it...you could have the groomsmen come in from the side with the groom and then have your BMs walk down alone and have them be more aware of where they are stepping...or nontraditional, have the girls come in from the side as well.

I loved this when I saw it too! I was thinking maybe you could get a plain white (or whatever color) aisle runner and glue the petals to it to make the pattern -- then people walking on it won't mess it up as much. I bet it would take forever to make though Smiley sad

I want to do this too but with our intials instead of a pattern. Here is a company that makes petal runners. I got a quote from them and they are very expensive. www.petalhappy.com

I was really concerned with it looking weird when it gets messed up. If its like halfway messed up and halfway intact does it look weird for pictures? Does anyone have experience with it?
