Petal toss opinions

Am, on June 17, 2019 at 9:57 PM Posted in Wedding Ceremony 0 4

Hi!

I want to do a petal toss during our processional. The FH doesn't love the idea, he thinks it may not work or that it's corny. Thoughts? How has this worked for others who have done it or been a guest at a wedding where it's been done? Is it fun for guests?

Hey Am! By a petal toss, are you meaning something similar to what a Flower Girl is typically thought of to do? I find it sweet, but it can be a pain to clean up. Our venue does not allow real petals due to their wood floors being 100 years old and the roses can stain the wood, so we would have to do silk or similar petals. I think if there's a petal toss it is typically done by a Flower Girl, or I have seen people throw rose petals as the couple is leaving after the reception.

No sorry! By petal toss I mean where guests throw petals from cones at the bride and groom as we walk down aisle after the ceremony!

We’re doing this! It’s super common where we live now and most weddings do it, plus it makes for adorable photos. It’s not as common where the wedding will be so it requires a little more explanation. I plan on having little bags of dried wildflower confetti, a sign explaining to throw it when we walk down the aisle and maybe a a family member or friend helping pass them out before the ceremony. About 1/3 of our guests will go to weddings where the confetti is common so I’m not too worried about no one throwing it.
