Petal Toss wording helppppp!

Desiree Landry, on October 13, 2019 at 1:46 AM Posted in Wedding Ceremony 0 4

Hey guys! So, a little back story, when my fiance and I started "dating" things were a little slow getting started because I was terrified of being in another relationship after a horrible relationship. Well, he decided to take me to NYC to see Carrie Underwood at MSG. He was obviously trying to swoon me and it worked haha. During that trip we talked a lot about various things and what our favorite day of the week was and why. I told him I didnt like Tuesdays much because they were boring and its just a blah day of the week. His response was "from here on out, Ill make sure every Tuesday is special for you." So the next week, he bought my flowers on Tuesday. And every single Tuesday for the last two years he has bought me flowers! They arent always big bouquets, sometimes just little bouquets from Aldi haha. He even proposed on a Tuesday and had flowers everywhere! But anyways, since the Tuesday he proposed, 15 months ago, Ive dried and kept all of the petals from the flowers hes given me. And with those petals I want to do a petal toss after we say I Do!

I made cones and Im going to have a station for guests to fill their cones as they walk into the ceremony. But Im trying to come up with something to write on the cones about "Tuesday Flowers" or somethingggg that has to do with it. Any ideas?!?!?!?

Thank you ladies!!!

Have you thought about just setting them out at the entrance of the venue with an attendant? You could have someone handing them out and have it be a surprise for the guests at the end of the ceremony! If anyone asks, just say it’s a secret and that they will find out at the end of the ceremony. After the officiant pronounces you two as husband and wife, you can kiss and then he could go into a schpiel about: “Now, I’m sure you’re all wondering why you have these cones of flowers in your hands. When they began dating, Desiree mentioned that her least favorite day of the week was Tuesday. From then on, *fiance’s name* vowed that every Tuesday from that moment on would be special for her. *Fiance’s name* gave Desiree flowers every Tuesday since then, including the Tuesday he proposed. In these cones are dried petals from the flowers she has received each Tuesday since his proposal. Please toss these petals as they exit the chapel. Ladies and Gentlemen, I present to you for the very first time, Mr. and Mrs. *last name*.

Honestly though, this is the sweetest thing I’ve heard in a long time. Cheers to new Tuesdays together!

I don’t have any suggestions for you but how incredibly sweet of your fiancé! Such a beautiful idea to have saved them to toss.

This is such a sweet story! For something to print on the cones, how about something like "Best Twosday Ever"...a play on spelling?

Hey there!! I have to say that this is the sweetest story I have ever heard! Your FH is obviously incredibly thoughtful! I also love that you have kept all the dried petals! You are both so precious!😍

Would you prefer to have this story explained by your officiant or would you like to have your explanation on the cone/on a sign outside your ceremony? You could also write this story on the back of your programs if you wanted?
