I initially listen to the “based on your body type and height you should get a...” but ultimately I think it’s crap. Try on anything and everything you like. It’s your day, don’t let anyone tell you you can’t wear a certain style. I’m 5’2” and curvy and I loved the fit and flare gowns I tried. I also liked the HUGE ball gown my four year old picked despite feeling like it was swallowing me whole - it was about as wide as I am tall, but so sparkly and I felt beautiful (until I saw the $2700 price tag)! Good luck!

Here is my dress, I’m 4’11”

Try on all sorts of styles! I am 5'1" and ended up getting a white bridesmaid dress that was spaghetti strap and A-line. (I have narrow hips and felt like it looked good on me). And all the bridal dresses I tried on were super heavy or the detailing was very....off-scale? Seemed too large or something. Some fabrics are incredibly hot as well so consider time of year you plan to get married.

If I had a curvier shape, I would have gone for a fit and flare; I LOVE those on an hourglass body!

I really would like a Mermaid style because I’m also curvy and would like to accent that. So I’ll try to keep n open mind. I wish they would have petite models wearing wedding dresses as well in catalogs.
