When my fiancee and I moved in together, we blended our family.
He, now we, have an eight year old. I , now we had a horse, a cat, 3 birds and two dogs.

Now, since he bought me another horse and the birds had babies:
We have 2 horses, 3 dogs, 1 cat and 9 birds.

My dogs used to sleep with me....we compromised, now one sleeps with us. The other two are in the dog room or with our son.

For the most part, I take care of the animals because he works more than I do.

I consider my pets family, luckily he is ok with thatSmiley smile

FH and I are both animal lovers! Therefore pets were a must when we moved in together!

Our first pet was a cat named Zilla. Then came our Pembroke Welsh Corgi named Tucker, then our pug Molly, and 3 more cats Harper, Casper, and Lexi! Our animals have never caused any issues in our relationship since we both love all of them sooo much! They are our kids for now until a baby comes after the wedding hopefully!

My FH and I have been together for almost 8 years and have had our dog Simba for almost three years. Having Simba hasn’t created any issues with our relationship; if anything it has made us stronger. Especially with dealing with a few health scares and unexpected vet bills. We plan to get another dog shortly after we are married and living in a larger house.

My husband and I plan to get a "fur baby" once I get pregnant so our children can grow up with it.

Absolutely that’s a great idea! All of our fur babies range in age from 3 yrs- 1 year old so we’re hoping that we can get pregnant soon after the wedding so the animals can continue to grow alongside the baby as well!

We would love for him to be present at the wedding but he can be a little obnoxious with his barking Smiley xd We are planning on getting a custom cake topper with us and him.

Shortly after moving from our old duplex we were renting (landlord sold the property and then new owners didn't want tenants) to a new apartment where cats were allowed, we got a cat. It had been a plan before we moved because my friend had rescued a stray she didn't have room for long term, so while we moved she fostered him for us. So far things are going well, but it's only been a month so it's hard telling how things will go long term.

FH and I don't have any pets together because we don't have enough money to take good care of one! Pet owning gets expensive, especially with vet visits

We are getting each other a dog just one for Christmas. With all the stuff to get and adoption fee it will be expensive.

I already had my dog when I met my FH. At first FH was definitely a little hesitant about the whole dog thing, but they have become best friends and the only issue we have is that the dog likes him better and he gloats about it 😉

I got a puppy about 5 months after we started dating. We moved in together about a year ago and my dog has become our dog. He is definitely a Mama's bit o but he loves his daddy too. No pet issues so far! Lol We also talked about getting another dog some time after we are married which FH says he gets to pick but I'm sure I'll have my opinions. Lol

We each had 2 cats before we started dating and I also had a large (105 pound) Newfoundland/Golden Retriever mix named Astrid. When we talked about moving in together we decided to rent a new house so that mixing 4 cats together would be easier (they all love dogs and Astrid loves cats, so that part wasn't going to be an issue). Fh was a bit hesitant about my dog because he hadn't really been around a large dog besides his old roommate's obnoxious german shepherd, but luckily Astrid is the epitome of a chill, lazy newfie so they get along great and he immediately started referring to her as "our" dog. We don't plan on having kids for several more years so they give us something to fawn over and take care of until then. We're at capacity pet-wise, but in the future, one way we're going to avoid pet related issues is to not get puppies or kittens but stick to adopting adult animals. I think a lot of issues stem from people not realizing how stressful training/raising a puppy can be. I know that sometimes brings couples closer, but a lot of times it causes issues. And it's important to get a pet that matches your personalities/lifestyle and that is sometimes hard to tell when they are young.

Kidding, my pets brought us closer together! Second time we hung out in the "maybe they're dating phase" my one cat sat between us and kept rolling closer to him. Forcing me to scooth closer to him as well.
My other super clingy cat never left my side until hubby entered my life. The first time she let me go to the bathroom by myself cuz she was so busy cuddling him, I was sold.
Mind you, he was a dog person and couldn't understand cat lovers. If anything, the moment they became "our fuzzbutts" was important to both of us.
