petticoat? hoopskirt??

Elizabeth, on July 3, 2011 at 11:36 PM Posted in Style and Décor 0 8

I'm looking for pictures of people with a hoopskirt or petticoat and without. my dress has a lot of tulle on the bottom but I would like to find something to keep it all in place. any pictures of this would be great Smiley smile

I do not have a picture but I added a petticoat, it gave it a little extra pizzazz.

The first one is my dress without the hoop skirt, and the second one is with it. I'm adding another small crinoline too to hide the shape of the hoops.

Amazing! I love the way hoop skirts flow when people walk. I also heard that hoop skirts are good if you need a little hemming as the hoops will lift up the dress a bit. Future Mrs. S you look stunning!!

I'm glad you posted this Elizabeth! I have an a-line crinoline and its just not giving me the amount of poof I want, and I've been looking into hoop skirts but wanted to see how they looked with a dress. This answers my question! And another thing that may help you Elizabeth, you may not need a crinoline at all, my friend didn't use one because her dress didn't need one and was poofy enough on its own. It all depends on the dress, mine dress I have to wear a crinoline or it looks weird without one.

I am definitely wearing a petticoat under mine. Now that I actually see the "before petticoat" pic next to the "after petticoat" pic (I've never actually compared them before, I just got the petticoat), I am soo happy I opted to get the petticoat. I think my dress sort of looks sad without the petticoat.

My dress also has a lot of tulle, and I ordered this petticoat (http://www.mygowns.com/gripper-waist-very-full-petticoat.html), which is the one I am wearing in the second and third pics. I opted for one without hoops because I didn't want to sit and have my skirt fly up (I've read complaint reviews about this issue brides have had before). I also wanted to go with the gripper waist because I didn't want it to pinch my waist or slip and slide around all night, which is what a lot of the drawstring petticoats do.
