Pew Decor

Kimi k., on March 7, 2011 at 2:06 PM Posted in Style and Décor 0 16

We are getting married in a SMALL historic church. They are completely renovating it, so the pics attached now are what it looked like before. I can't WAIT to see the finish product...anywho...I want to have decor on every other pew ...but we can't attach by nail, tape, etc for it will harm the newly varnished pews! The aisle isn't THAT wide...any ideas my WW sisters?

Oh Koni, I KNEW you would save me from my insanity!!!

The problem with these pews is that if you look REAL close, the back of the pew is almost all the way to the top of the side of the pew (did that make sense?) So, I'm worried that the ribbon won't hold.....oh hell, I'm off to find pics too! lol

I wonder if I used those 'command' strips that you literally just pull the strip and it comes off clean woudl work? To attach on the inside of the pew, not the outside. That way I can hang it over the top of the pew....

    Man, my brain hurts!

Pew clips! We had to use these too because of the no tape, etc rule

They go over the "arm" of the pew, and you can attach whatever you like to them

I was having the same issue. I am making pomanders and using those hooks you can hang over doors that don't require adhesive to hang them from the pews.

Jenn has a good suggestion with the pew clips! Probably a safer bet than the command stickies. The church may not even allow those command things even though they say they come off clean...

Also, items lighter in weight may be better if there isn't much of a lip to hang the ribbon on. Things like the tissue pomanders Greyash made or the paper lanterns I posted wouldn't weigh as much as the little flower pails or the mason jars. Maybe the lighter weight items wouldn't pull the ribbon off the lip of the pew...

True story! I have some time, so when the pews go back in the church in a few weeks, I can take a pew clip to test it out!

Oh girls! You did it again! I love it when someone can think for me!

I love the way the mason jars looked from the picture I posted! So pretty and clean looking! If you could make the mason jars work it would be fab with your theme!

We're making fabric pomanders...We'll attach them to ribbon and just slip it over each pew end.

We had our ceremony at a tiny synagogue. We just had pew bows tied on with their own strings lining the aisle.
