Philadelphia caterers

kathyana, on October 25, 2017 at 11:01 PM Posted in Pennsylvania Planning 1 18

I’ m having a lot of trouble finding a caterer. Guest list is approximately 200 although I wanted something smaller my honey has a lot of family and his mother wants to invite people. My total budget is $20000 for the whole wedding . Does anyone have any catering suggestions that are budget friendly ? I don’t need alcohol included or cake I do need servers and maybe tableware

Hi there! The most budget-friendly suggestions I hear most often are buffets, either barbecue or pasta. Those are crowd pleasers and can be kinder to your wallet.

I did a quick search in our Vendor tab for you for caterers in Philly that offer buffet or stations, provide servers, and are free on your wedding date - have at it! https://www.weddingwire.com/shared/search?catering_service%5B%5D=servers&catering_service%5B%5D=buffet&catering_service%5B%5D=station&cid=3&geo=philadelphia&page=1&sort=1&view_type=photo&wedding_date=3%2F02%2F2019

I would search the vendor tab - and definitely look into BBQ or Italian.

I don't know how expensive they would be for a wedding but we order BBQ from Dekes BBQ in Manayunk all the time! They have some of the best BBQ in Philly!

Can you define budget friendly? What pp cost are you looking for? And are you looking exclusively in the city or in the suburbs as well? $20000 for 200 people is going to be tight. I have a similar budget for 150.

Do you have a venue or do you need the whole package deal, venue + catering?

Honestly? That really isn't enough money, especially for a prime date over a year away.

I used to work for Bruno's Catering in Lansdale, could try calling them and see what you can work out. My friend wanted to use them for her wedding, but Bruno was one of her guests (her venue also required a specific caterer).

I’ve searched the vendor tab but wanted other people’s opinions as well. I was looking for something 60 pp. my budget can go up to 25000 but I would prefer it not to. I’ve found a possible venue that allows outside catering and drinks so I’m pretty good on venue it’s just the catering that I wanted others views on especially if you have used them

Try Your Party Planners (Jason LeBoon) they work out of West Chester but travel all over SE PA.

He's an absolute angel and went above and beyond for my DH and I. His prices were really reasonable. We had Italian style food 3 different apps, staffed buffet with three dinner options, salad, 3 bartenders, 1 busser, and one catering coordinator for roughly $5200 (including tax tips and a discount for paying cash). Good luck

For some reason I can't edit my comment. I'm on mobile so that may be it.

He also did a fantastic tasting where we had a bunch of different option. He also had homemade bread and spreads as well as set up and break down of our rental.

    Good luck!

I'm using PTG catering which is about $60 pp not including tax and tip for a buffet. The tasting was amazing. We are getting 2 entrees, 2 pastas, and 9 hors d'oeuvres.

Have you looked into Jeffrey Miller Catering (http://jamcater.com/)? I am using them for my wedding and couldn't be happier with the pricing, especially given all of the things included in their packages. I just attended their tasting over the summer and the food was soooo delicious! Everything is made from scratch and has a little twist to it. I was very impressed with the selection. I consider myself a "foodie", but my fiance is a picky eater. However, we both loved everything.

I can't seem to find their contact information online. Is there an e-mail address or working website you have for Your Party Planners (Jason LeBoon)? Thank you!

If you want an off-beat idea, we used Jammin' Crepes. They had their food truck outside, but served everything buffet style.
