Although I don't know of any reputable Nigerian caterers, we are having West African catering done by Angie's Kitchen in West Philly. We love their food and they are always crowded. Other than this place I have yet to find anyone! Hope this helps!

My name is Bimpe not Bumper. Im using a lady named Mrs Somoye but she is kind of a pay in the ass. I can give you her number if you want. She is out of south jersey. I think her restaurant is called Mama Dee's.

It seems like all the Nigerian caterers I have dealt with have been super unprofessional. Either they didnt have both their insurance and license or would give me the run around about what they have. Lets just say Mrs Somoye was the 5th caterer I contacted and she was the lesser of all the evils. She isnt really a caterer and should call herself simply a cook. It was like pulling hair to get her to agree to be present during the reception. She just wanted to drop off the food and be on her way. I had told myself I would never recommend her to anyone because of how crazy she is. I know a nice lady named Lolade whose food is really good but has no license or insurance so you would have to get insurance for her. Do you want her number, she is probably the most professional of all of them?

I used Mama Dee in South Jersey for my wedding at The Radisson Warwick on Oct 13, 2012. Her food tastes great and she is licensed and insured. But I warn against using her. Her real name is Moni Somoye and she is one of the most unprofessional vendors I dealt with on my wedding day. We had a contract that we both signed where I detailed that I would pay her 100 dollars per hour for being present during the wedding reception. Needless to say she didnt show up. She sent her husband (a lawyer, not a licensed or insured caterer) as her replacement. She claimed that they own the business together but that is not the arrangement we agreed upon. I never signed a contract between myself and her restaurant. The contract was between myself and her "Moni Somoye." I asked for my money back and she refused to give it back to me. She also brought a wrong food item and wouldnt admit fault. Also their magically wasnt enough food the day of. I'm sure if she was present she would have been

This is so helpful! I am having a Nigerian and American wedding next year. Are you all using a banquet hall that allows for outside caterers. Do you have any suggested locations around south jersey?

Hey! I am also having a Nigerian/American wedding either next year or 2021. I wanted to know what your experience was like planning and incorporating both sides ( for example when it came to having a Trad etc) and if you were ever able to find a banquet that you could bring in outside catering?
