We are zooming in on our venue- *thought* we would do it outside at a friends' place, but now fiance is looking for other options so we can really make an informed decision. Rain could be a pain, true story. I guess we are feeling more open to inside now that a lot of people are getting vaccinated. And also ease of dealing with tent situation. I'm not as stressed but he is, maybe I should be IDK! haha
I thought of a few maybe cheapo places I've done wedding or other gigs at- first thought was the Ethical Society but they are paused for now. Then I thought of the German Society and the Cannstatter up in northeast, where I've played polka gigs before. Weirdo but cool.
I've not been inside really at the German Society- we played on the patio area. The Rathskeller room seems very affordable and weirdo which could be cool for us. My fiance is into his German heritage so it could be a nice thing for him. I guess we would try to rent the outdoor space too? IDK.
The Cannstatter is huge inside, also weirdo!
Anyway does anyone have thoughts on these places?
Bonus question- is anyone else taking the lantern fly situation into account? We were recommended by a few places not to book in summer if possible because of this.
***our budget is VERY low, we don't want to spend more than $1k for the venue (not including rentals), less is better. We were also looking at Whitesbog in NJ but they just axed weddings and events there.
