Philly Venues cheap and allow outside catering

Samantha, on January 4, 2017 at 10:00 PM Posted in Planning 0 5

Recently, I was about to put a deposit on a venue in Philadelphia. The deposit was $4100... this place was perfect with a bright urban lofty feel, in an amazing neighborhood, allowed me to bring in my own alcohol and outside caterers.

I even found 2 caterers that fit my budget of $100 per person (120-135 people)...

Unfortunately, They have decided not to allow any more weddings due to unforeseen family needs. Therefore, I am back to the drawing board for finding a venue within my budget.

I would like it to be in the city but not sure if this is feasible to compare to $5k rental and under $100 per person for food and BYOB alcohol

Suggestions ?

I'm not completely sure how much is costs, my brother got married here a few years back, and they loved it. The only downfall is everything is complete DIY, we had to set up and tear down everything.

Also its on spring garden street, in Philly

    There's a partyspace.com, for Phila.

I married in Delaware, where there is no sales tax, and saved thousands. it sure beats Phila., with it's regular sales tax of 8% and tax on alcohol at 10%.

Material Culture is great, the Maas Building, any of the arboretums, local breweries, Magic Gardens. But really, check out philly space finder for inspiration.

EDIT: If you can find a cool enough space in Delaware though @Dreamer makes a fabulous point re: tax.

Unfortunately, Powerplant Productions is the venue that we were going to book and isn't taking any more clients at the moment. I loved that place to and it will be hard to beat.

I just put an inquiry into the MAAS Building !

    More suggestions please Smiley smile
