Photo Backdrop at wedding - what size and where to put it?

We are having a photo backdrop at our wedding in lieu of photo booth. What size is best? Where at the venue to put it? (cocktail area already has 3 tables in it). Also any other suggestions appreciated! (color, photo props, how to decorate?)

So just a place for people to take selfies etc or for the pro photographer to take photos?

Yup just a backdrop and frame for anyone who wants to take pics. We are hoping to decorate it a bit and have some props for them.

We did a 10x10, and it was at the entrance because we had a red carpet.... it was a movie premiere theme..... we also had a photographer who was there just for those photos, and of course people could take their own photos....

Hmmm I wonder if they will let us set it up in the hallway like you did, that looks great and gives people something to do while waiting for the receiving line to move.

Our backdrop is 8'x6'. We're putting it inside of our photo booth. I used my pibble as a model.
