Photo booth or no photo booth?

Can't decide on if a photo booth is worth a few hundred bucks or if I'm better off putting that money towards other things. opinions?

I voted no on the photo booth because :

-it takes up space on the dance floor

    - people end up waiting on line for it

    - everyone has an iPhone for pictures and there are SO many pics taken that day

    - rather spend money elsewhere

    Just things to think about.

Photobooths are so much fun! And some companies will print an extra picture for everyone to put in a scrap book for you. Ours is doing that and having the guests sign their name and/or message next to their picture. I think it's fun for you guests and so worth the money!

Gotta say I'm not a photo booth fan--if you really want one go for it but it's certainly not a necessity

Not a necessity. However, they are one of my favorite parts of a wedding- I have strips from other weddings/parties we've been to all over our fridge and a few at work.

If you can fit it into your budget, I'm another pro-photobooth vote.

If you can afford it & you enjoy it, then have one. Personally, Im not having one. I rather spend the money elsewhere. I don't hate them at weddings but Im also not obsessed or a fan at all. I take 1 or 3 photos and that's it. I rather be at the dance floor. I particularly hate the tacky ones with all the props. that make you look like a circus employee or a 70's pimp. Lol. I also hate the long lines.

Generally, I think this is a good idea if your crowd doesn't like dancing. It gives them something to do. Its also a nice memory for your guest but its by no means a necessity. This will not make or break your wedding.

I am pro photobooth but I am not having one. I am using the money elsewhere as I can't justify the cost now that other expenses have come up. Priorities stink sometimes Smiley laugh

Full disclosure...I'm not at all interested in putting a green bowler hat on my head, a fake moustache on my feminine face, a hot pink boa around my shoulders, or huge, oversized glasses on my face while being photographed at a wedding reception. Boring, and I don't want the photos. I fail to see the attraction. I'd much rather you beefed up the apps or the bar and let us all carry on as adults do at a fabulous party. But, that's just me. I know some people love this kind of thing.

While I love a good photo booth when I go to a wedding, we are not having one. We didn't want to fit it into our budget and we are paying good money for a good DJ so we want people out on the dance floor drinking and having fun. I don't think it will be missed. I was considering doing a DIY photobooth with our instax polaroid but opted out of that too.

I was wondering about this too... we thought about using it for a guestbook too! So they get one set of their pictures and but the other in a book!

I want one but they seem a bit to expensive to justify in my area Smiley sad we're doing a candy bar and extra yummy dessert favors instead
