Photo Booth Start Time Question

LCya, on January 25, 2016 at 4:29 PM Posted in Community Conversations 0 4

So we decided to have a photo booth for three hours for our wedding (4 hours including "idle time"). However, I am not sure when we should start photo booth.

We have our cocktail hour from 5 to 6PM. This will be indoor.

Reception will start at 6pm and last until 10 or 11pm which will be outdoor.

The vendor said that he will actually set up at two locations if I want to start it during cocktail hour for the same price as we will just have to move the camera.

However, now reading at other photo booth thread I am not sure if I should have the photo booth to start after dinner (7 to 10pm) or just stick to the original plan (5-6pm for cocktail hour, 6-7pm "idle time" so pay $35 but nobody uses it and have it open again from 7-9pm)

I wanted to see what you guys think

I am having a photo booth for 3 hours and what I am doing is cocktail hour 430 - 530, then reception will start at 5:30, we'll be introduced at 5:45 and we'll start eating at 6 and then photo booth will be open from 6:30 - 9:30 and reception ends at 10:00. I personally would not split it up. Most of the time people have fun in the photo booth will be in the middle and towards the end of the night when they are having some drinks and the music is playing. I think of cocktail hour as more reserved, appetizers and people mingling and saying hello to everyone, and getting their first drinks.

I think at cocktail hour people are too busy eating and drinking to really take advantage of the photo booth. I know I am always STARVING by the time I get to cocktail hour. I'd only do 7-10.
