Photo Scavenger Hunt

Kathryn, on August 12, 2011 at 8:23 PM Posted in Community Conversations 0 24

Ok so I saw a post about disposable cameras and how its just a waste of money, and I reaaallly like the idea of a photo scavenger hunt, but how would I get the pictures from the guests if they use their own cameras? Is there a way I can have them send them to me?

Well there was a post about where you can make these cards to put at the tables, and it has a list of things for guests to try and capture...so at the top of the card you could put, Just in case our photographer might miss, try to capture these moments of bliss....and then a list of things like: groom playing with his ring, wacky dancing, a big hug, a secret moment...stuff like that, I thought it would be really fun...but I would want to see all the pictures, and everyone says disposable cameras a waste..but idk how I would get everyone to send their pictures.

Set up a website that they can upload the photos to... leave cards on the tables with the web address and tell them what to do.

If I do disposable cameras, I will have someone wait at the door with a bin to make sure every last one of those cameras is accounted for... lol.... but I'm crazy like that so you might chose a different approach...

I just went through this and this is what I'm doing. I saw I SPY cards on Pinterest.com and fell in love with the idea. I was going to disposable cameras but the ladies on WW convinced me otherwise.

So I went to Shutterfly.com and set up a shared website. I called the service rep. who walked me through the whole thing and explained how my guest would use it. Your guest will log into the site and upload their photos. They can see every ones photos and they can order prints or even albums if they wanted.

So then I said okay how will I tell every one that I want them to do this. So I came up the the idea to print up business size cards that read:

Can you catch us when we kiss? Find moments we may have missed. Use your camera and look around, please upload your photos, they are so hard to hunt down.

Bride & Groom Kissing * Biggest Smile * Someone enjoying their dessert (I added a few of these types of things)

Then I put down our shutterfly web address and the password.

I'm in the process of decorating these tri-fold card holders. I'm embossing "i spy" on the front and putting a charm with one word captions such as, explore, memories, discover, create.

I'll post pics when my cards come in. I just ordered them the other day! I'm going to put the cards in their welcome bags!!

Thanks to all of the ladies on this site I found the perfect idea for me and the wording!

That sounds so cute, I think im gonna do that, instead of having to spend almost 40 on cameras and then getting them developed. And yeah the WW ladies were telling all kinds of stories about black photos and blurry ones lol

You're welcome Rachel. When my cards come in I'll post pics of them and the holders. I've gotten so much support and wonderful ideas from belonging to WW.

Me, too! I have to say, there are so many things I hadn't thought of and probably wouldn't have thought of if I didn't come on this site. It's helped me plan so much.

We are using a shutterfly share account. Then I got business cards from Vistaprint during one of their free sales. I know a few of my guests (older relatives) that do have digital cameras and do take a lot of pictures are so computer illiterate! lol So I put step-by-step directions on the card! Give me a few minutes and I'll take a picture and post it! We've used the shutterfly share account for vacations that we've been on with others and we like it.

Love the first I Spy picture. I am planning on doing this. Where did you get the "patchwork" photo?
