Photo & video questions help please

Ana, on February 19, 2021 at 5:00 PM Posted in Planning 0 5
So the whole wedding has been a lot more expensive than anticipated and I’m indecisive about needing to have photo and video for the “getting ready” part? Is it actually worth it I’m talking maybe $500-$1000 just to have that extra scene in my video maybe more since it’s a separate location than the wedding.. Is it OK just to do photo and video for ceremony and reception? As for that between my ceremony and cocktail and reception it’s a total a 5 1/2 hours I was thinking of getting four hours photo and five hours video.. does this seem good and has anybody done something similar? What’s your opinion? Please help

I’m actually contemplating this as well! I want to have a video for the day but I am not 100% on if I want to have them there for while I’m getting ready or not. I feel like just the ceremony and the reception are sufficient, but it also varies per person. I’m just trying to save a tiny bit of money from the time differences we’d need that vendor for

I’m getting ready at my parent’s house with my MOH (my sister) & 1 bridesmaid (my daughter)- my other bridesmaid wants to get ready at her home. I’m not having our photographer there but he will capture some pics of me getting into my dress etc at the venue.

Yes it's okay! My best friend didn't do a video, but she didn't have her photographer join us until we arrived at the venue after doing hair and makeup. She still got some beautiful photos and she didn't feel like she missed out at all. So I'd say you could cut this out without really missing it. My best friend took photos and videos herself of all of us getting ready and another friend of hers did as well, so she still had photos from that. You could always do the same! They won't be professional but it will still show that part of your day.

My photographer was here for getting ready pics. They’re well done but I’m not going to print them out for anything. I definitely wouldn’t miss them if she met us at the venue.

Our videographer was only at the ceremony / reception and I have absolutely no regrets about that.

Ive honestly only seen photo/video of getting ready on vendor sites. I've never seen these recorded in real life, nor known anyone who had any part of getting ready/dressed documented. Do what you are comfortable with.
