Photobook?

Mrs. G, on July 11, 2018 at 9:27 AM Posted in Married Life 0 10

I want to make a photo book. My photographer makes one, but it's been a year. I don't think photobooks are her specialty, but they are mine. My photographer is busy, highly rated (it's officially busy season for her) and she just had a baby. I consider myself an avid hobby photographer (including a minor in art). I'm picky. I got my dad hooked on blurb - he made a book of my wedding for my mom, but I need a place for my photobook. I don't want to use shutterfly due to bad customer service. I've heard of shutterfly, blurb, mixbook, nations photo lab, and artifact uprising for layflat books. It's been a year and I can't decide (partly because I was waiting for my photographer but I gave up).

Which one do you recommend? Any other suggestions?

I’ve had great customer service with Shutterfly, plus I love how customizable the books are. I do one every year. Also if they aren’t having a sale, email before you buy and ask when their next sale is...they will usually send a code for 40% off.

I’m a photographer, and I would say out of all the ones you mentioned, artifact uprising is probably the best. Shutterfly is horrible quality compared to a professional, artifact uprising would be more of a professional standard. I’m sorry your photographer has failed you here!

Good to know. I've heard they have grainy quality though? I'm just worried about printing quality but I've heard they're a great company.

Also it's okay! I still love her. Basically planned my wedding around her and I'm glad I did. My MOH is using her for her wedding too! (I'm a bridesmaid, would be her MOH but she has a sister). I am happy to do it myself because of my perfectionism.

I haven’t heard that, although I do know a couple professionals to use artifact for their books. I do not, as I only use companies that are exclusively available to professionals, but there’s lots out there that do both. You might also try artsy couture or WHCC.

    Hi Mrs.G!

I think it's so great that you're making your own photo book! You have some great resources, recommendations, and advice in this thread. I have seen some really quality books done by Artifact Uprising . I love the idea of having a photo book, as it's just such a sweet way to create a personal memoire from your wedding day as a keepsake. Smiley heart

I really like adoramapix.com. They have great quality and you can do so much with customizing your photobook.

Great question. I won't need their services until after October, but it's good to know which ones to check out.

I travel extensively so have probably made no less than 30 photobooks with Shutterfly and have not had any issues with their customer service. That is who I will use for my wedding album.
