Photobooths: In or Out?

Photobooths are a great source of entertainment and the pictures can do double-duty as favors, which is always a plus! Do you think photobooths are just a phase, or do you think they’re a new reception staple? What’s your opinion? Is the photobooth trend in or out? Photo from QuikPics PhotoBooth in...

    I think they are in! I opted for a photobooth company that gives me a USB with all of the pictures of my guests afterwards. I plan on making a fun picture album full of them. Smiley smile

    It's for the guest, so why not provide amusement.

    I'd say in, but we are going with Instax, the modern instant Polaroid cameras.

    I would have a good time with a photobooth as a guest. I also think it would be fun if the couple gets a couple minutes to themselves to do it. Smiley smile

    I think they are nice for less formal occasions but definitely not my thing for a wedding. We definitely arent having one because there is no place to put one in our venue that wont negatively impact the style and look we are going for - it would ruin the magic.

    I could go either way with this one. I think it's a lot of fun and guests seem to enjoy them.. but some of them can be expensive. My photographer offered to do an "open" photo booth, but also said in his experience it tends to either take the crowd away from the rest of the party/dance floor (if people are lining up to get in) OR barely anyone is interested in it. So, not sure if we'll do it yet. I do think it's still IN though!

    Out. I feel that its a waste of money. We will be making a wooden frame with our names and date and people can use their phones to take a picture behind it.

    It's kind of funny, because it's not really my thing at all. But some of my friends are super excited about the idea. I can put together a DIY backdrop style photo station with a tablet loaded up with a photobooth ap for less than $150 (including a ring light I'll later gift to one of the ladies who's not in my BP, but who's doing a TON of stuff for me), so we're going to do one. It's definitely a know your crowd thing. I think that younger people who go to a bunch of weddings and social events are tired of them. We're in our late 30s, and our friends range mostly older than us, or just a bit younger. It's still a novelty for our crowd.

    I'll have to pass. There's just something about them I don't care for.

    @Bridgette.

    To answer your question we wanted to change things up and make it so we & our group would have a few different photo booths to use. One is a VIP Hollywood prop ( NYC style & the regular props on sticks ) And to have more fun there would be a Mugshot wall (idea came from movies like bridesmaid , hungover) we are even printing different reason why ppl get arrested for.

    Mugshot wall-- photo booth #2
