Photographer and different picture types Help!

Browse local photographers on the vendor tab and see what catches your eye.

Look through portfolios of photographers in your area, as well as full albums, and pay attention to what poses they use (do they repeat the same ones? Or are they creative depending on the scenery?), what types of shots they typically get (do they capture everything throughout the day? Do you feel like you see the whole story of the day by looking through the full album?), tone of the pictures (more moody, or bright and cheery?), etc. Find what types of pictures appeal most to you and look for a photographer whose photos match that.

We ultimately went with our photographers because they were photojournalistic (which means they focused on capturing the natural progression of the day without much posing), had insane abilities to capture natural light, and also did magical things with landscape portraits. I’m over the moon with our photos (I’ve included a couple to show you what I mean with the descriptions I gave). There’s also moody, bright and airy, and true to color, which tend to be more editing styles. I’d definitely figure out what you’re drawn to because if you love bright and airy but hire a photographer who typically edits in a moodier vibe, you’ll definitely be disappointed.
