Photographer budget

We paid $2,300. However, the cost can greatly vary depending on location, experience of the photographer, length of time the photographer is at the wedding, etc.

Your budget depends on what you can afford, and of course, how import photography is for your wedding. I spent a good bit on my photographer, but to me, that's one of the most important things!

This will greatly depend on location (if you're in a high cost of living area), on the photography package you choose, and on the experience of your photographer.

We spent $5000 on our photography package. This included a 1-hour engagement shoot (100 edited photos), 10 hours of photography the day of the wedding with a second shooter (1000 photos), and a 15-spread (30 page) wedding album. This was a mid-range (not high-end) photographer, but we're in a very expensive city.

My advice would be to shop around, ask to see their portfolios, and don't stop until you find someone you like and click well with. Depending on what you're looking for, you can also try to negotiate if there are certain components that you want in your photography package.

Cost greatly depends on the area. Cost also doesn't necessarily imply skill (lower cost photographers can be just as skilled as higher cost). One way you can find photographers in your area that are in your budget is to search for a Facebook wedding group in your area ("[city/area name] weddings" or "[city/area name] brides"), and put a post out there asking for photographer recommendations. Also specify your budget and all details (number of hours, preferred photo style, whether you also want a second shooter, etc).

We are spending 3200 but it depends on a lot of factors! Photographers have different packages and such. We are getting a photographer + videographer for 10 hours each, plus a second photographer for 4 hours, a printed album, a 45 min video, over 800 edited photos, etc. So ask around and compare! It depends on what you need.

We are paying 2,000 for both photo and videography

Photography was our second most important factor for our wedding after food, since after the day is over, all you really have are photos to look back on. We choose a relatively well known photographer in our area for $4900. This includes 8 hours of coverage, second shooter, engagement shoot, all the photos, and a wedding album

We paid $2,000 for 6 hours of photography with 2 shooters and $3,500 for videography for 6 hours and 2 shooters. Prices will vary based on where you are located. My biggest piece of advice is do not skimp on photography and videography! They will be the only pieces of your day, besides your memory, that you will have. It is worth every penny!

I was looking at prices of like $2k! My friend is a photographer and she said that’s what she charges too for weddings but instead she was able to help me out. I paid for her travel expenses to come help me shoot video and photo and it was like $450 in total only

As everyone said, cost will vary with location and package. I'm getting married in VT and spending $3700 for 8 hours of coverage and engagement shoot. I saw a range of $2000-$5000 and photography was high on my list of priorities.

It depends on what you want, package, how important it is to you, your budget and locations. I am spending $1400 for 2 shooters and 6 hours.

Our photographer is very well known, and this is his smallest/cheapest package. Since we are having a micro wedding, we didn't require more than what this offers - but photography was priority #1 for us, so we definitely wanted to splurge on quality.

Paying 2,000 for a photographer

$4,200 price for the package we decided on. You're going to find prices for tons of different budgets and photographer abilities. You just have to get what fits in your budget as well as your needs. I went into it thinking my needs would be around $2,000 but after I ton of searching I was totally wrong and upped that and saved in other ways. Photo+video is one thing that I see a lot of people not truly understanding the average cost along with what that gets you.

I’m paying 1600 for ours and then added engagement and video for 650 she is amazing and very talented
