Photographer for Bridal shower

sharada, on May 23, 2018 at 1:48 PM Posted in Parties and Events 0 16

I wanted to hire a photographer, is it wrongful to do that for a bridal shower. I am not asking my bridesmaid to pay for it, I am paying for it. I wanted all the memories to be captured. I have nine bridesmaids I want all of them to be enjoying instead of worrying about taking pictures. So no one won't be missed out on the pictures. Any suggestions would be helpful.

I don't think there is anything wrong with that, as long as you insist on paying for it yourself. I don't think it is standard to have a professional photographer, but assuming you pay for it yourself I don't think anyone would have reason to object.

I don't think it's necessary, but if you'd like to I don't see it as wrong, especially if you're paying for it yourself.

Hi Sharada and welcome to WeddingWire!

There is definitely nothing wrong with this!

Perhaps you could book the same photographer for your shower as well as your Wedding and see what kind of packages are available for multiple events!

I would search WeddingWire vendors for your area!

Nothing wrong with that! It will be so cute to have those kinds of pictures. I was thinking about doing this for my bachelorette party, getting cute flower crowns or something and having a photographer take some pictures of me and my bridesmaids.

It is the same photographer for my wedding and shower. I just don't want to make my bridesmaids feel that they didn't do enough, they are extremely generous putting together the shower, and I am very appreciated. He was actually giving me a really good deal, It was hard to say no to capture special moments.

I had a photographer at mine! Granted, it was my best friend who is a professional photographer and she volunteered to take photos! She sent me 175 digital photos and I was so excited to share them with people who were at my shower. They are memories to keep! I absolutely recommend looking into getting one!

I say if it's in your budget go for it! Nothing wrong with getting a 3rd party to take pictures so your guests can enjoy their time.

Maybe phrase it in terms of they did such a great job and it means so much to you that you want to be able to capture the memories

If I had the money available at the time I’d have done it. Also - as a photographer I have done showers. I think is totally worth it!

There have been other brides on here who hired a photographer for their shower and I thought it was a great idea. It gives you more time for you and your photographer to get to know each other so you feel more comfortable having them take your pictures. Plus, it is great to have more picture opportunities with your loved ones. Not to be morbid, but a friend recently had her bridesmaid pass away suddenly a few weeks after the wedding and this friend was so glad she got lots of pictures and video of her wedding party to remember this bridesmaid.
