Photographer meal

My caterer serves vendors the same meals as guests. Vendors will be eating at the same time as everyone else (except the band) and it'll probably take an hour or so to eat. I have my photographer booked for 6 hours. How does the photographer's timing work with dinner? I'm still waiting to hear back...

I'm having a 4 course plated dinner. I really hope it takes longer than 30 minutes.

Wow! If they are being served one after the other, yes definitely.

Yeah they are. I'm not sure if vendors will get all 4 courses though. I have to clarify that with my caterer.

While we know they need breaks. I think the issue is if I’m paying for 6 hours of video/photography then the hour of eating would make it 5 hours.

The hour break may even be required for employees who are scheduled for 6 or more hours. The photographer may already have this figured into the day. There likely are some natural breaks where the photographer would not need to be active.

That was my concern but the photographer explained that she won't sit and eat and nothing else for an hour.

There definitely will be breaks for her, and I want her to eat and take breaks. I was trying to figure out if her eating for what I thought was going to be an hour counted toward my total time.

If she works independently (rather than being employed), she can work more flexibly than an employee. In her case, it would make sense to be ready to catch any critical photo moments. If there were two, they could have one active while the other is on a break.
