It really depends on your location and what you're looking for. You can check Bark or Thumbtack to help find photographers in your area or wherever your wedding will be held. It could possibly be anywhere between $250 - $500 an hour or anywhere between $1k and $3k for 6+ hours but there's different styles. Some companies or freelance photographers will have deals/discounts.

Hey Lorraine! Where are you located? You can definitely check out the WeddingWire cost guide to get an idea of the average cost of a photographer! Here is the national average cost of a photographer - Wedding Photographer Cost Guide.

You can ‘Change Location’ at the top right of this graph to see a more local average. I hope this helps!

Like PP said, there are tons of variables that can change the pricing. The package, your location, the number of hours. We are near Cincinnati and paying $2500 for 10 hours of coverage.

Agreed with everyone else - it really depends on what you want and where you are. We're in Virginia and are paying $2,800 for a full day of coverage with two photographers, and an included engagement session.

I'm in Texas and I got bridals (2 hrs) , engagements (2 hrs), and wedding photography (8 hrs) for $1800. This was CHEAP here. Most were charging over $3000 for all of this. I ended up going on Instagram and searching #houstonwedding and then looking at the tagged photographers and reaching out. It took a LONG time but I found a good dealSmiley smile

There are quite a few vendors listed here on WW that I recently saw and were shocked at their prices.. maybe check out Lily & Lime? I am using them for video... but their packages are completely customizable and very affordable! Everything is completed online, but their reviews are GREAT and so far I am very impressed by their customer service on the questions I have had.

We're is Des Moines, IA and I feel like we got a steal for our wedding photographer. For $2800 he will be doing and engagement session, covering the rehearsal dinner, and full day coverage on wedding day. Everyone else I had looked at was $3500+ for much less hours. I know a couple people on here who have mentioned they got the photographer they wanted for less by taking less hours of coverage on the wedding day. Maybe you could look into that as an option.

I'm in CA, and our photographer is costing $3000, but that is for 10 hours, two shooters, an included engagement photo session and 100 STD cards, as well as a printed wedding album, and access to all the digital photos and raw footage. It was a really good deal for our area, even though it is a lot of money. But great photos were a high priority for me, and the photographer we found is absolutely fabulous!!

Here in MD our photographer is $1250 for a 1 hour engagement session, 6 hours for the wedding, and 2 edited CDs.
