Photography and photoshop

Has anyone had to pay extra for editing or photoshopping? I received my photos about 45 days after my wedding. While I like them, there were some issues of fly away hairs, shadows etc that I would like fixed. When I asked my photographer about it, she said they do editing for $70 dollars an hour. She also said they usually get a lot of editing done in that timeframe depending on what's asked.

Here's my specific issue.. my husband has a cowlick. (Side note: I'm surprised that is how it is spelled.) He cut his hair short a month before our wedding, assuring me it would grow back. It didn't. I guess no one noticed or cared that his hair was sticking up in the back the day of the wedding. It doesn't ruin our pictures but there's some where I would love to see it smoothed. There are also some photos of me where the bags under my eyes look so terrible. I asked the MUA not to put eyeliner on my bottom lid so she put eyeshadow instead. I dont need help making my under eye bags more pronounced. In fact, I need help with the opposite. The makeup didn't translate well in some of the pictures leaving my face a little orange. I'm pale af. Also, the hair stylist put some donut thing in my hair that is showing in many of my pictures. I can't stand it. It matches my hair color and probably isn't noticeable to anyone but me. There are other pictures with shadows that I feel would have been an obvious fix.

Overall, I really like my photos and I dont want them altered in a way that doesn't reflect us. I'm just wondering if it's common to pay for these services or if anyone has encountered this.

Following, as I received my bridal photos back today, and my makeup makes me want to cry. Smiley sad I always do my makeup myself, and for whatever reason, I decided to hire a professional MUA. I hated how she did my makeup, and am wondering what Photoshop can do? She did my brows too dark and I hate the colour she chose for my blush. I'm sorry you're not happy, but at least you're not hating the pictures themselves (poses, etc). Minor things can easily be edited, and I'd do it if it's worth the peace of mind!

Usually that’s stated in your contract. I get some editing included with my photos, but not for every single one of them. So my photographer will pick the best ones and touch them up before he even sends me the proofs. If I want any major editing, I will have to pay for that. But no one is perfect, and we all have things we would change about ourselves. However I think the best pictures are those that show our imperfections, and the completely edited ones tend to look fake and sometimes not even like the couple at all. Unfortunately, I don’t think there’s anything you can do but pay for it if it wasn’t written in your contract if you want the editing done. Congrats on your wedding!

Mine includes basic touch ups like lighting and color correction but nothing like that.

I was really upset over my HMU at first but after looking at all my photos, they grew on me. I'm sure it will get better for you too. The first day my husband and I were both annoyed with his hair and my HMU lol.

Thanks! I'm happy with my photos. I think I would have been happier with no makeup though.
