Photography issues

Courtney, on July 2, 2019 at 12:03 AM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 8
Hi all!! My wife and I got married May 4th of this year. It was a beautiful wedding. But... our photographers never gave us all our pictures. We got about 20 and that was it. Our contract says 6 to 8 weeks. We are on week 9... what do I do? We want the pictures we paid for so we can go through them all. Right now i am pissed off about it. I dont see a reason why we are still waiting

I would email AND call them and just ask when you can expect to see them first

    Hey Courtney!

Like the other Courtney said, I would reach out to them first. Emailing and calling are both great options. With emailing, you have that paper trail and evidence that you contacted them, and with calling them, you can get a direct answer from a live person, and maybe they can explain what's going on.

I hope you get your pictures soon!

    Best of luck,

    Sydney

I would try to keep calm but call them. Also remember that your wedding is not the only wedding he is working on. Like I said I would call and tell him it is a week past the date. When can you expect the other pictures and are you going to be given a discount since they are late.

I would send an email. "Hey x, I just wanted to say again how great it was working with you! We were wondering when we can expect our pictures? I look forward to hearing from you."

It's not hard to gauge someone's willingness to abide by the rules they set. I would refrain from starting off asking for a discount, especially if you have had no issues with the photographer prior to this. I know it's hard to wait. I think I'm at day 18 or so of our 60 day turnaround time for photos. I hope it works out!

    Emails! Leaves a paper trail.
Start off very polite but if you need to be firm don't be afraid to

Exactly this. I'm a big fan of leaving a paper trail. All you can do is be firm, polite and ask questions.

"Hello ____, I hope all is well. I just wanted to reach out to you to ask if there are any updates on our photos. Our contract clearly stated six to eight weeks, and with it now being week nine, I just wanted to make sure things are coming along as planned. Please let me know where we stand and help put my mind at ease. We appreciate your help, and look forward to hearing from you."

If you have the option to do so, turn those read receipts on. If no response after a day or so, get a little bit more firm with your emails. "Just checking in again - we are writing our vendor reviews and would like to be able to give you a positive one, but we have not seen our finished product or heard back from you..."

So sorry for the photo delay!

Email them and ask for an update. I was married 5/18/19, the next day he sent us about 20pictures and yesterday we got the remaining pictures and all the video

Hey everyone! Thank you for the options. Around week 6 or 7, I emailed asking if we could get a date on pictures. I was told by the end of that week. It's been 2 weeks. No pictures. No response to yet another email a few days ago. We are mad considering they were paid and signed a contract with us. I dont want the only pictures we get to be the 20 they sent us because that's not worth the money we paid. Hopefully soon this will be resolved
