Photography Question

Kris, on February 17, 2020 at 1:17 PM Posted in Planning 0 8

So we are stuck between two photographers. They would both do it for five hours, one with one shooter ($450), and one with two shooters ($750). What is everyone else's experience with single or double shooters? How much is everyone spending on photography? It's most important for me to get shots of my getting ready photos (FH isn't sure he wants his getting ready photos professionally documented . . . he's been sick the past year and it's hit his confidence hard) and then pictures of our families, wedding party, us together, etc. I'm not too fussed with pictures of the reception, because I know tons of our guests are going to taking photos, anyway.

Get the second shooter!!! It is SO worth it! They will be able to capture so much more! With one shooter, you will only get one angle at a time. With two shooters, you get multiple angles all day long. For example, while walking down the aisle, you will get your face and your FI's face. It really is worth the extra money!

Also, those are amazing prices! We paid $2,000 for 6 hours of coverage and 2 shooters. We didn't put getting ready photos as a high priority. I can take photos of me and my friends in our PJ's anytime. I wanted the photos focused on us all dressed and ready! So we had the photos start right when we were finishing up getting ready and putting our dresses on.

Two shooters are really nice because they can capture more than one angle, particularly as you are walking down to your FH during the ceremony. I like that aspect of having two, because then you get both sides of that reaction. There's also a lot more diversity in the shots that they are able to capture.

That’s a really really good price. I’m paying 600$ extra for the additional videographer/photographer. It’s important because they can get so many shots and angles you’d otherwise miss. I’m paying 5k for 10 hours of Video/photos with drone footage, 5 minute trailer 45 min feature film and then raw footage of the entire night. With two videographers and one photographer. You’re getting an excellent deal. I’d say jump on it.

I'd say go with the 2! They'll be able to capture those perfect moments for both of you. And can I say wow! I wish our prices were that great! Ours is one photographer for 8 hours at $2500 and she was one of the cheaper ones, but in my opinion the best one! Our package also included engagement photos as well and a TON of pictures that we would get back. Most photographers in our area are around $3000 for just the 4-6 hours and around 150-300 edited pictures.

I'd get 2. That way you have more photos and angles.

We're paying $1250 for two shooters. I didn't specifically want two shooters, but this was honestly the cheapest I could find and I loved my photographer. The fact that the package came with a second shooter was just an added bonus! I am excited that they'll be able to catch both me and my FH as I'm walking down the aisle though. Plus, they can break off and catch both of us while we get ready.

We have a second shooter just for the final getting ready moment, and ceremony. That is the only time I feel having two makes a big difference, so they can get both of us. We’re paying $75 an our for the second person.

Those prices are amazing! I'm paying about $1300 for 6 hours with one photog and that was much cheaper than anything else I could find. I'd say for spring for a second shooter if it's in the budget.
