It’s very common for photographers to offer a free engagement session if you book a package with them. Unfortunately, we couldn’t do that because our engagement pics and wedding were in 2 separate locations. So we had to book 2 separate people. But I would definitely look into some businesses that offer free engagement sessions

Our engagement photos were included in our package. Altogether with tax and tip, we were over $7k for photos. That’s in San Diego, CA.

I actually had a friend do both for me but I actually saw photographers on Craigslist offer free engagement photo shoot sessions just to expand their portfolio

We are paying 3500 for engagement session (200 photos), a layflat 12x12 photo album (200-300 photos) and 8 hour photography with a 2nd shooter on our wedding day which includes 700+ edited photos with release. This is in North Carolina and the photographer is published and recommended by our venue so we are very thankful to be getting it at this price!

My engagement session came with my wedding photo package.

We’re paying $4000 for our package which includes(ed) an engagement session, 9 hours of coverage, 2 lead photographers, and a 10x10 album.

We weren’t going to do engagement photos but my hubby found a special on Groupon for $50 (new photographer looking to build her portfolio). 👍

Paid $225 for engagement photos and $2000 for the wedding!

We booked our photographer solo (without a second shooter) and for a half day with Esession for $1500 because we are having a very intimate wedding with 25-30 guests and a very low key dinner party.

Our package was $1360 ($1200 before tax) for 5 hrs of wedding day coverage and free engagement photo session in CO.

Our photographer included an engagement session with our wedding package. I would look for a photographer that offers this as a "bundle" from my understanding it is quite common.

Our engagement photo session was included in our wedding photography package. We paid $2,000 for 6 hours of coverage with 2 photographers.

I luckily got engaged right before black Friday so I was able to get a black Friday deal on my photographer. I am paying $750 for the full day (8 hours) and we get every photo back via digital file. She was offering a $95 engagement session with the wedding package, but we opted out at the time witch I regret now.

We are paying $1400 for our photographer for about 7 hours. We are a second shooter, all pics of our wedding coverage on a flash drive, through email (dropbox), an album, and a 14x20 or 16x20 photo of us.

Your price is definitely going to depend on where you’re located. I’m paying almost $1000 for my package (not including any products other than usb drive) this includes 6hrs on wedding day, and travel fee, and also engagement session, although since my friend already agreed to take engagement photos for us, my photographer was willing to swap the engagement session for a bridal portrait session.

Thanks everyone for the help! Very good info to know that most are package deals for the engagement/wedding pictures 😊 I didn’t know what to expect price wise so this is a good way to gauge it. We’re looking at $2000 to $4800 depending on which photographer and package we go with
