Photos with grandma

Kaylee, on December 5, 2020 at 8:16 PM Posted in Family and Relationships 0 13
So backstory..... my fiancé and I are have a destination wedding it’s about a 14 hour drive from home. Our wedding was planned for august of 2021 but with COVID happening this year it has put a financial burden on our family just like everyone else. With that being said we decided to push back our wedding until august 2022, my grandma is 89 years old and is declining very quickly and i am praying to god she will still be alive in 2022 but I can’t be sure, nor am I sure if she will be able to make such a long trip. Would it be weird of me to take photos with my grandma in my wedding dress now? I just want my grandma to see me in my dress and experience that with me.

Would you post those pictures or use them for personal reference? I think if you don't post them then it's nothing wrong with it. I'm sure she would love to see you in your dress

I think that would be sweet ☺️ There was actually a girl on here whose MIL was terminally ill, so she and her fiancé had a commitment ceremony so the MIL could see them dressed up and take vows (even though it wasn’t legally binding).

I don't see anything wrong with it. I recommend you not share the photos online though.

That’s an amazing idea!! I’m sure she’ll love it & will be very touched that you even considered it! You don’t want to have any regrets. Definitely don’t post them

It’s a great idea! Take lots of pictures wearing your dress showing her with excitement. Maybe even record her seeing you in the dress for the first time? Have a tea time together, just you and her. If you are not from the same household, I suggest strongly that you do a swab test and isolate yourself enough just to eliminate the risk of giving covid or flu virus to her. Have a great time! ❤️

I think it is a great idea. If dressing up to show her gives her happiness even for a day, it is worth doing, and worth taking pictures of now, for a future when you will want to remember her. Do It.

I don't see anything wrong with it. I think it would be a sweet thing to do.y only advice is not to post photos online or send them to anyone that way how you look in your dress is a surprise.

I totally agree with Belle! You could even ask her if she’d be available to be on the “Bridal Fashion Committee” or something, and if she’d be willing to give her input on your wedding outfit. And maybe give her a little sign with a “10” on it that she can hold up, like she’s a judge or something? That might give it a more light-hearted feel, at least at first, before all the feels come out! I’m sure she will be very touched by your thoughtfulness. Grandma first looks need to be a thing!

Do it. As someone whose grandma passed away this year, who didn't get to see me in my dress, I wish I could have these photos. Share them if you want, don't share them if you don't. But definitely do the photoshoot. Maybe like a first look kind of thing?

I think it is really sweet and I would totally do that, but I'll second everyone saying you shouldn't share these pics online. I'd do a smartshow 3d slideshow with some of the best pictures to share with everyone I'd want to, but posting online would be a no for me.
