Physical save the dates & online wedding Rsvp?

Victoria, on April 13, 2021 at 3:37 PM Posted in Planning 0 7
Hi everyone! I was thinking..would it be okay to send physical save the dates in the mail and then as the date approaches, send an online invitation? Where it leads them to the wedding website where they could RSVP? Just trying to find some ways on how to not spend so much on what could eventually be thrown in the garbage 🙈 I would like to send out save the dates just because I feel like there’s nothing like seeing your close family/friends receiving your save the dates? Not sure, maybe it’s just me. Any advice or anyone who has done this before? Thank you!

Online RSVPs are becoming more common, but unless you are having a very casual event, I wouldn't do online invitations. You can get nice invitations for really cheap at sites like Ann's Bridal Bargains.

We sent physical STDs and we're also sending out physical invitations. Some family members like to keep them as keepsakes, and I'm one of them! BUT to cut back on money spent, we aren't including a RSVP card or any extra enclosure cards since they will be electronically rsvping.

If anything, I'm going to just make the enclosure cards myself to include with the invites. It'll have our wedding website on there and a RSVP by date. It's cheaper to print them on nice cardstock to match rather than pay for enclosure cards or pay extra to print on the back of the invite.

We initially were going to do everything digitally then realized that some of our older relatives don't even own a computer so opted for physical invitations.

Unless you have an extremely laid back wedding planned, I wouldn't recommend skipping physical invitations. I would recommend skipping favors or programs before skipping physical invitations.

Online rsvps are fine. The actual invitations should be physical/paper. Lots of posts mentioning digital invites backfiring. If cost is a concern, go to annsbridalbargains.com or Costco.com

Our RSVPs were all done online, but the invitations were physical. Our wedding will honestly be super casual, but digital invites can easily backfire hard. If cost is an issue, there are plenty of places you can find affordable invitations and STD options. We got all of our invitation stuff (invites, envelopes, RSVP/details insert, etc.) from Zazzle for around $100. For reference, we invited 88 people. I'd say online RSVPs are fine, but it's still definitely recommended to send a physical invitation.

Get a cheap template from Etsy and print them out yourself from paper you bought at office max
