One idea off the top of my head could is the groom could have a Western groomsmen cake and enter the reception with his favorite cowboy hat. The remaining wedding day can be fairy lights in the woods theme. That way there is a nod to the Western vibe, however not the entire theme. Hope this helps and best of luck on the wedding planning!! ❀

Also, the toasting flutes can be customized like the picture below (thought it would be a cold day in hell before I had COWS on mine Smiley xd ). I also read that you could use bandanas instead of napkins, add wooden rounds for the table decor (which would also fit your cottage core look) Then I thought you could find a more western-look lantern to put on those wood rounds. The other picture really hit me as well - that is a terra cotta table number sign!! A bit "Western" without the yee-haw cowboy thing. LOLOL Hope these help. (I Googled "subtle Western themed weddings

You could do cowboy hats as favors that guests could get once all the formal reception moments are over and the dance floor opens up to everyone for the night. I agree with the above about a groom's cake however he wants it to look. Maybe you guys could look into a "rustic" looking venue that sort of bridges Western and cottagecore?

When you say cottagecore, do you mean more woodsy, Monet painting come to life or an abandoned manor covered in ivy in autumn woods? Because as someone who is going for a dark academia-cottagecore Victorian vibe (with nods to our favorite videogames sprinkled throughout), I quickly learned there was a lot of different views on what cottagecore entailed!

That said, since you mentioned woods, I def would echo what some of the other people said. I feel there’s common ground in rustic, naturalistic, woodsy theming to be found between Western and cottagecore.
Also, I hear you being done with the Western themed wedding! I grew up where a lot of folks kept horses and romanticized the idea of the Old West. I attended my share of them and while they could be fun, there were some that definitely would have gotten posted to a cringe wedding blog/reddit/forum.

Oof that’s a bit tricky for sure since the more Western rustic aspects suggested might clash with homey cottagecore in nature’s beauty.

I assume you’ve been talking with your fiancĂ© about the theme; do you know what specific Western vision he has in mind? What does he like about it? What are specific aspects of it that appeal to him?

Can you get someone to supply a horse to the event? Maybe that would give a little Western sense to the event. But I suppose the inclusion of a horse would have to be planned before finding a venue.
