Picking a wedding date

The 21st has always been our day. The first time I contacted her (9 years ago!!) was March 21st, she came back into my life on November 21st, our first date was supposed to be December 21st but got pushed to the 22nd. Relationship went official January 21st. And we knew we wanted an Autumn/Halloween wedding so October 21st it had to be!

I personally was lazy about having to celebrate two important dates (our bf/gf anniversary and then our wedding date), so I decided to pick the same day. I looked at a calendar and saw when it would land on a Friday or Saturday and ta-da - we picked the date!

Well we talked about it first before we picked a date and time and we also looked at the calendar

We decided to do a destination wedding in Mexico, and so we picked early February 2023 to give our guests plenty of time to plan and save if they want to come!

My fiance and I are both giant fans of Halloween so October or a fall wedding was always in the cards for us. While we debated on a late October date prior to engagement, we had joked about getting married on a Friday the 13th in October. Turns out there is one coming up in 2023. I didn't know he was proposing this year but we solidified the date we had in mind the day he proposed, exactly 2 years and 2 months to the day. He proposed on August 13, 2021 (another Friday the 13th) and I couldn't have thought of a better day!

I picked my gma anniversary my boyfriend did not asked me yet but on July 4 we are

We chose our 11 year dating anniversary which also happens to be 11/11 so it worked out. Only have to remember 1 anniversary date.

We picked 10/20/23 because 10 was his college number and 20 was mine. In 2023, it just so happened to be on a Friday. We knew the area we wanted our wedding but no so much the actual venue so availability helped narrow our choices down!

My fiance Chris and I(the bride) originally wanted our Wedding in September; however my brother was also engaged at that time. With him wanting to get married in September and it being his birth mouth we moved ours to October. I didn't want it too close to September or Hollween; so my favorite number 15 helped us agin becoming our Wedding date.

FH chose our date actually. He wanted it close to his birthday. This is both mine and his second wedding, my first was small and honestly, if I go back and look at it...It was cute but not really my style. FH never really had a first wedding ceremony or anything, so he wants us to plan something perfect for us. Which is family and close friends, and that still totals about 80 people.

It's our favorite time of year as well, so it just seemed right to have it in March, because it won't be too hot, but being in the South, well it won't be freezing either.

We wanted to do a destination wedding to New Orleans. We did a trip to search for venues and had our dates narrowed down to 3 months (November, December or February - non hurricane/non hot humid months) and allowed our venue to give us their available dates and picked that way. We highly recommend finding the venue of your dreams and tailoring your date to what’s available!
