Picking a wedding dress

Alicia, on October 9, 2021 at 10:07 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 9
Anybody have a referral for a reputable online spot to order a dress from? I’ve looked locally and nobody has the dress I am looking for. I am looking for a tea length wedding dress in a 1950 style. I find ones that I fall in love with but they are all made in China and I’m not ordering from there. Looking for a place in America that makes and ships them. Anybody know of such a place?

JJ’s House and David’s Bridal both have tea length bridal dresses

Azazie has some also, and of course there’s always Etsy. Another option is to find a full-length dress that you can have shortened into tea length.

My sister had a tea-length gown which she got from BHLDN.

Thank you so much. I will check them out. I did look at David’s but didn’t see any that I liked.

I love etsy for stuff like that. You can filter to show only shops in the US. Read reviews first, but my dress was custom made from someone I found on instagram who sells on etsy and it is amazing

David’s Bridal, BHLND is reputable but I don’t know they carry tea length, ModCloth has vintage style dresses that might work as a wedding dress.

If you’re open, you can have a dress altered to tea length. I did for our 50’s/60’s local reception. The dress turned out exactly the way I wanted! Before and after pics: Picking a wedding dress 1

Thank you! That lovely polka dot wedding dress was discontinued at the bridal store—only $99!!! Alterations were around $500 (I don’t remember). If you find a strapless dress on sale (ask bridal shops when their discontinued sales are and their prices, or look at David’s bridal cheaper dresses), a good seamstress can chop off the extra tulle and build your top any way you want.
