I just wanted to share pictures from my celebration of our original wedding date. July 31, 2020 was my original wedding date. My fiance and I were forced to postpone our wedding to July 2022 due to COVID, but we still celebrated our original date today! We bought a mini cake from our cake baker for us to enjoy this morning, visited our rehearsal dinner venue for dinner and drinks last night, bought a mini flower arrangement from our florist, and visited the restaurant at our venue for lunch today. We had a couple friends join us for our events over the past few days. I also put together a gift basket for my fiance, with a few COVID-wedding-themed items. It's definitely been a bittersweet few days (especially today), but we loved finding ways to make today special, and we are looking ahead to our new date! For anyone who had to postpone, I highly recommend celebrating your original date in some way!
That’s great! I think still-celebrating it is the best thing we did. We made it into our “save the date” vow renewal announcement. I was so sad before. Your idea reminds me of “love is not canceled”!

Thank you!! At first, we were dreading our original date, but once we started planning a weekend adventure for our original date, we started looking forward to it. It really ended up being a day to remember!

Thank you!! It is certainly sad to postpone and to have to watch the original date pass without a wedding, but doing something on the original date is a great way to bring some happiness back to it. I love your idea of creating the Save The Date vow renewal announcements on your original date! Love is NOT cancelled!
