Pipe and Drape Alternative

Briahnna, on June 19, 2019 at 8:53 PM Posted in Style and Décor 0 4

Hi everyone!

I am not a huge fan of the look of my reception hall and am looking for some ways to change up the look of the walls. The sconces combined with the chandelier give a very rustic look, and we are going for a very romantic and soft feel. I was quoted about $3,000 for pipe and drape, but that is pretty steep for me. Do you have any ideas of other ways to change up the look of the space? Am I just being crazy, and in all reality there is no need for this extra decor? Lol

I would use amber lights and lots of candle for the romantic feel! I think it would work without the extra expense of the drape.

I think you should just add flowers, centerpieces and maybe chair covers.

Welcome to the WeddingWire community Briahnna! Congratulations on your engagement!

Thank you for providing images of your reception space! It makes it so much easier to visualize! It is a beautiful space, the chandelier is stunning and a great focal point in the room. I was thinking, instead of covering all of your walls in pipe and drape, you could do one section as a focal point and decorate it so that it becomes a photo-op for your guests. It would be quite easy to DIY and would certainly break up the wall space.

If you are going for a soft and romantic style, you could also look into some draping on the ceiling. I also think that this would draw guests eyes to the center of the room and upwards so that you would not have to worry about the walls.

Thanks for the suggestions, everyone! I will definitely be focusing on lighting and candles to create that romantic feel, and I love the idea of the ceiling drapery. I will go back to my rental vendors and get some quotes!
