Pittsburgh 2020 Bride - help with venue Selection!

Jessica, on April 11, 2019 at 3:29 PM Posted in Pennsylvania Planning 0 6

Hi everyone! I just got engaged in March and am looking for a venue in (or within 45 min of) Pittsburgh. We live near DC, but we're trying to make this manageable for friends and family (Indiana, Michigan, Philly, DC area). We've both been to Pittsburgh and loved it and thought it'd be a fun place to get hitched! We also thought there was plenty for people to do in the city the entire weekend.

Do you have any favorite venue suggestions?

These are the things we're looking for:

-Ceremony & Reception in one place

-Outdoor feel - doesn't have to be all outdoors, but I'd love there to be some natural scenery. I don't think a ballroom is our style, unless it has a pretty view

-Doesn't break the bank - trying to stay under/around $15-$18k (for EVERYTHING)

-Easy to work with venue since we're out of state

PLEASE AND THANK YOU!

Jessica

Phipps conservatory! It’s not crazy expensive and gorgeous when decorated for weddings.

    Pittsburgh is lovely! Smiley smile

I was going to suggest Phipps! They do weddings often and their team is very professional - we're using them for our ceremony. There's also the Pittsburgh Botanical Gardens - I don't know what their pricing is but I'd imagine it's similar to Phipps.

Congratulations on your engagement Jessica!! Welcome to the WeddingWire community! There are so many great venues in Pittsburgh. Have you had a chance to search in the WeddingWire venue directory? You’re going to have a lot of fun browsing! I’ve linked you to Pittsburgh Wedding Venues but feel free to narrow down your search by available date, venue type, guest capacity and more. You’re bound to find something perfect for your wedding!

Have you thought about any of the really fun wedding planning aspects, like your dress or wedding colors?

Thanks! Yes, I have looked at both of those. I *think* the botanical gardens were cheaper. Both were absolutely stunning though!

    Sinead,

Thanks! Yes, I've been browsing and emailing venues through the directory. I just was curious if someone had the same kind of budget and idea as me and has already really delved into the planning stages. I'm just beginning and I'm feeling a little overwhelmed. It seems like my budget isn't going as far as I'd hoped. What I'd LOVE is that someone has all of the same ideas/budget and has already done it and can just pass the information over and it just works out like magic. Yes, I know this is nearly impossible, but a girl can dream! Smiley winking

These are all around 40 minutes south of Pittsburgh, but they should be around the price range you're looking for with the more outdoorsy, rustic feel.

Note: I reached out to Red Fox Winery myself when I was looking for a venue. Prices may have changed, but they quoted me $6500 for a four-hour reception with tables, chairs, tablecloths, sweetheart table and use of any of their available signage and decor. The ceremony can be indoor or outdoors. They were pretty reasonable and friendly.
