Natalie, on December 2, 2013 at 11:59 AM Posted in Community Conversations 0 12

Hey friends! My MOH is looking to have my bachelorette party in Pittsburgh! Just wondering if anyone could make some suggestions on things to do, bars, places to eat? Any help would be lovely! We don't know that area very well!

Go to the Southside, tons of restaurants and bars, and really popular for both parties.

There's a sprinkling of bars in Station Square, with some restaurants. The Northshore really only has like 3 bars and 2 restaurants.

Oakland (where Pitt is) is okay. Thats where we went for mine since the guys were on the Southside, and college kids don't understand bachlorettes so they won't buy drinks.

I have been to bachelorette parties in South Side and Station Square. I think I liked Station Square a little more because the crowd is a little older (south side) is a lot of college kids too.

    I'm in Pittsburgh.

Ditto southside, but if you want an upscale dinner check out Willow on Camp Horne Road.

What part of the city will you be staying in?

Depends on where you want to be. Pittsburgh is kind of a big place, and if you don't know where you're going it's not the easiest city to navigate.

The Embassy Suites at the airport is nice, but it's far from downtown. The guys stayed at the Doubletree downtown for DH's bachelor party. They liked it.

There are B&Bs in the area too if you wanted to think about renting a house.

If we were going to the bars in southside, where would we stay?

Southside is definitely the way to go! I do believe there is a Holiday Inn express there? That's where we plan on having my bachelorette party too!

There is a holiday inn express on carson st, far West closer to stat. Sq. I stayed there once after light up night, ifs nice, not grand but def not a dive. if you go to station square there's a Sheraton inn, lil bit more upscale nvr stayed there but had to attend a work function there. Its really nice but also $$$ than holuday inn.

Another ootion for bars is the strip but itdepends, are you planning to hop?

If u want to bar hop def go to Southside, if you want to make resevations & stay in one place, I would suggest stat sq. Be warned, south side can get nasty, as ive seen people throwing up in the street and sometimes on the dance floor. :-(

There's a Hyatt House in Southside by southside works and right next to Hofbrauhaus. It's walking distance to all the bars but they also have a shuttle if you need it. I definitely recommend going to Hofrau.

I was just at a "girls night" at Perle (http://www.perlepgh.com). It was great and a little more upscale. I love going to the Southside, but like some other posters said it can be a little on the dirty side (people puking, black out drunks) and also there have been some bad things there lately (shootings, etc).

I agree with Allison, I'm not a fan of the Southside at all; I'd stick with Perle, or BZ or even Ten Penny (it's a new bar downtown.) It's all about what you're looking for though, I'm biased because I used to live in the Southside and I grew to really dislike it.
