Well my fiancé has Celiacs so he wouldn't be able to eat pizza unless you got a gluten free crust. That hadn't touched any "regular" crusts, and completely different ovens (unless each pizza was on its own tray) and utensils would have to be used. Just seems like a lot of work and a lot to remember for a chef who will be mass producing pizzas quickly.

Are you offering other food too?

If you do pizza, have multiple kinds (meats, cheeses, gluten free, dairy free) and also consider having something that goes well with pizza (salad, pasta, etc). Also, do you have a local pizza place you like? We have a neighborhood joint that does fancier (brie and apple, fig jam, etc) pizzas, maybe you could work something out with a local restaurant that is both cost effective and tasty vs. a caterer making all the food. OR have a caterer do a diverse cocktail hour with restaurant pizza after.

No one will give a crap about a theme if there is nothing to eat except Tuesday night.

    Sorry #priorities

I would need it to be super fancy, gourmet pizza that never gets cold and I would need other things in addition to that to make it a true meal, like heavy apps and salads, etc.

When did Alice even refer to pizza, let alone eat it?

Sorry, I cannot get behind Tuesday/Friday night delivery when I'm dressed in cocktail wear at a wedding. I eat it while watching a movie in my sweats or PJs (after a particularly long day -- it's my rescue meal, not my formal affair meal) -- with my hands -- and sometimes, with grease dripping. I'm not cool with that visual in my wedding clothes. Sorry, but it says inexpensive. Just do chicken, potatoes, and veggies instead. Or don't.

Sounds delicious! Reminds me of Dick Van Dyke and Arlene Van Dyke's wedding :-) they did a playful wonderland theme. Life was meant to be fun and free!

I love pizza, but to me if doesn't go with Alice or with weddings. A tea party theme would be great for an afternoon affair. If you're looking at the evening, how about British nursery foods; the kinds of things Alice would have regularly eaten? Roast beef, Yorkshire puddings, peas and carrots, etc. Or if you need to save money, do a BBQ with dinosaur ribs and sliders to play on the growing and shrinking elements of the story?

Everyone loves pizza...relatively cheap and yummy (if you find the perfect pizza place), that's why it's delivered to hundreds of thousands of households every night. Everyone also loves prime rib, filet mignon, twice baked or garlic mashed potatoes, string beans almondine, caramelized carrots, chicken marsala, and baked salmon -- dishes that are not delivered to hundreds of thousands of households every night, but dishes that are delivered to guest tables every weekend...at weddings. I'm trying, but I don't get frat party cuisine when it comes to weddings.

Pizza for a wedding? No. It's a wedding not a picnic.

Mellow mushroom has gourmet and gluten-free options and we will be having salads and pastas I hired a decorator but stayed within my budget of $3800
