Pizza buffet

Has anyone else done a pizza buffet? How did you keep your pizza warm and make sure the buffet is stocked? We are probably not going to have wait staff due to funding. Also, our venue doesn't have a kitchen.... Thanks for any tips/advice.

We are doing pizza but the set up is coming to us. Woodfire stove and all. The pizzas will be made on site fresh and delicious, in addition we are doing appetizers.

I just went to a wedding where they hired a pizza truck and we're constantly running in fresh pizzas. It was great and I know they didn't break the bank for it. Guests also got to make requests if they wanted a certain pizza.

I'm shocked by the comments on here.

If you are on a budget, pizza is a good option.

Talk with whoever you are getting your pizza from and see if they help with setup.

We are planning pizza as well and intend to have it dropped off about 30 minutes into the reception, that way guests are ready to eat and pizza doesn't sit too long.

We are also getting big bowls of gourmet salads to add to it.

Don't let these comments stray you away from that, not everyone needs a fancy gourmet dinner and wait staff for a wedding to be fun and memorable!

Super old thread but still relevant with any budget wedding.

A few years ago, I was asked to arrange catering for my father’s wedding. They don’t like gourmet wood fired pizza that so many say you must serve because chain restaurants are “not good enough”, so a pizza oven truck would be wasted food. They decided they wanted a mom and pop pizza parlor with basic flavors they visit to cook. I ordered 4 flavor combinations and 2 extra large pizzas of each flavor so they would not run out and could take home leftovers. Also ordered garlic bread and then picked up a large basic salad with dressing from Costco.
They were kept warm over chafing burners and pizza pans that their church already owned. Tent cards were placed in front of each to say what they were and any potential dietary restrictions. Other pizzas kept warm in the oven on the lowest setting.
They had self serve pitchers of iced tea and lemonade on another table. Silverware and napkins already on the dining tables at each setting and disposable plates from Costco on the buffet table.
People loved the food that it was filling and tasty. Also didn’t break the bank
