We are doing a rehearsal dinner with 17 people total - all sitting at one long table. Would you have place cards at each seat or let the guests choose where to sit?

Formality and up to whoever is planning and paying for the Rehearsal Dinner. My FMIL is planning ours completely as she and FFIL are paying for it all (and well she loves that kind of thing, so it was something for her to do since I wanted to plan my own wedding lol) and she decided to make a seating chart for it. My parents think it is sort of odd as we have never been to a Rehearsal Dinner where the tables are planned out, but it’s my FMIL’s thing so we really can’t say anything 🤷🏻‍♀️
