Place cards that double as favors?

MzRosaLu, on March 24, 2015 at 6:37 PM Posted in Style and Décor 0 23

Curious if any of you are using double-duty place card/favors? I've seen coaster frames or little picture frames that hold place cards and can also be used as wedding favors. I'm sure there's something a little more creative? Just looking for ideas. (kind of leaning towards skipping favors altogether since the budget is tight, but thought this might be worth looking into).

I'm doing this. My photobooth frames will double as my place cards. It's not that creative lol but still a good way to save on favors

I was leaning toward having these engraved with the wedding date.

My FMIL is doing picture frame favors doubling as place cards...I'm trusting her on it. She may put a tag on the frame with the person's name and something like a nice 'thanks for coming' inside the frames. "Hi" date twin Joy Smiley smile

I did triple duty: favors/drinking glasses/place cards. I tied everyones names to the handle.

@Mrs. A & J - that's so efficient. I love it! Lol. I found these and I'm wondering if these would be cute, or kind of cheesy? We are having a brunch wedding with DIY wine bottle centerpieces. These place card holders could be taken home & used as standing photo frames for small, wallet-sized photos. Opinions?

My place cards are made of plantable paper - you plant it and wildflowers grow - so they are doubling as favors. I wasn't going to do favors, but I was looking for handmade paper for the place cards, came across the plantable paper, which was the same price, and thought, why not?

@Doublej079 - I love that idea! Is it clear to the guests that it is plantable paper? Does it have an explanation somewhere?

We're going to try and just put the escort card info (name & table no) on our favor (tile coasters). I really don't want to have to do 250 little escort cards, I feel like they have such a limited purpose.

We're going the coaster route. We're having our reception in a Spanish style patio so we bought a bunch of Mexican tiles, glued cork board to the back and we'll write people's names and table number on the tile (with a non-permanent ink so they're not stuck with out names on a coaster).

My inspiration. Our theme is birds and I love to bake so we're going to do bird cookie cutters with place tags on them Smiley smile. Budget friendly too, as I found a place to buy in bulk for about .69 cents each.

We are also doing the plantable paper, but they will be in a small gift box (that I have spent far too many nights folding myself!) that will sit at each place setting.

Thought about doing the same thing Jessica is doing...and then not wanting to spend $200 or so on the frames when I can pay someone on Etsy to create a seating chart and print it at Office Max for a LOT less won out.
