I got these plastic plates from the Dollar Tree Deals store. they are the hard plastic white with a silver ring. Very sturdy. {104 plates for $35.00} I also am using the metallic silverware, which I got from a local restaurant store {50 pieces for 43.00}. The napkin rings I got from orientaltrading.com {48 pieces for $3.00}

I really wanted the rings because I used a "love" sticker to seal our wedding invitations and the script is exactly the same...not that guests will probably pick up on that, but that's the anal side of me, LOL

    It only now occurs to me that I believe it was plastic plates that were used at my friends wedding this past summer. I never really thought about it though. They were nice clear ones which seem just right for an tented outdoor buffet reception.

    That looks great! you go for finding the perfect combo of deals. i'm gonna keep DT in mind tho. a lot of you all are finding awesome deals there. once we decide on the caterer then i'll go ahead and get that squared away if i decide to purchase my own plates,etc

    I love it. At least you dont have to worry about someone dropping china, breaking it or washing dishes :-) I am going plastic myself.

    Kimberly, that's what I say b/c if I get china, we will have to rinse it, pack it up, and send it back to the vendors. However, I am getting glass drinking glasses b/c they are easier to pack up. I told Ednabugg I wish we had those plates out here in CA b/c I would definitly get them. lol

    @ Courtney...it is dollar tree deals.

    its a seperate store from the regular dollar tree. do they have those where you live? in a dollar tree everything is actually $1.00 in a dollar deals things can go up to $5 or $10

    ..We decided to do place settings so people know that is their plate, lol....fh said if we leave the plates stacked by the food, then people {like me} will grab more than one!

    I have an issue with my food touching so when I go to buffets I need more than 1 plate to seperate dry food from potentially runny food :-)

    I'm not sure if they are available online, but you can try.

    and maybe there is a number where you can call and ask...

    or everyone can send me their money and I'll buy them and ship them to you!!!! LOL

    I have my own business so I do own a credit card machine :-) {haha}

    So I know this blog is old but I came across it in a google search for inexpensive place settings for our wedding. These plates look great! We are just concerned they may not be sturdy enough for bar-b-que. Does anyone know if they are able to handle that type of food? If so, I'm ordering them asap!
