Placemat under centerpieces?

Here's my centerpiece idea. Gold striped vase with comic book flowers, 2 wine bottles with wine bottle lights, and candle votives on the tables. My colors are gold, eggplant, and lime. I found these at Target and instead of using a runner thought they might look good under the bottles and the vase. Thoughts? I know it's more using your imagination, but with plain ivory tablecloths I thought something like this under the centerpiece might give another accent to it.

    YES!! I showed My fiancé that for the same exact thing on Saturday and she could not see my vision lol! But go for I thinks its Really cute!

    I looked at something similar for mine but decided against them. Because the gaps were so large, I was worried that things wouldn't sit quite flat on them and could tip over (like a light vase without water in it). I ended up getting a gold placemats of similar size but they were more solid

    So pretty! Maybe buy one and try to set things on it that are a similar size/shape that your centerpiece may have and see how well it sits.

    Hi Tori! Your centerpiece idea sounds gorgeous, I love the look of wine bottle lights! I think this placemat looks awesome! Agreeing with the above comment, I would buy one and see how everything look all together!

    I'm going to Target later and buying 4. That way, if they don't work, I can just use them as placemats for the holidays.
