Dedicated November 2020

Plan b

Chelsea, on May 14, 2020 at 2:07 AM Posted in Texas Planning 2 8
I’ll be getting married on 11/14/20 in Texas and I’m trying to come up with a plan B. We originally have 150 guests but in Texas, venues can only do 25% of capacity. My venue capacity is 400 so I would need to invite 100 guests. My FH family is all located in Mississippi while mines is in Texas. I am fully gonna decide on plan B by August. I did come up with 4 options, need help on which one I should do. I really don’t wanna keep pushing anything back, me and FH are ready to start our lives as a married couple. I would like to get everyone thoughts.

Option 1Intimate ceremony on original wedding date, reception party next year.
Option 2Ceremony and reception with 100 guests on original date.
Option 3Ceremony and reception with 50 guests on original date
Option 4Virtual wedding on original date, reception party next year.

I would plan for the 100 people this year. If you’re ready to start your life as a married couple, do it. Who knows, you may still be able to have all 150 by the time rolls around.

I agree with PP. if you haven’t been hit financially by the virus and are still able to have your wedding, I would.
Just take a look at your guest list and see how you can trim it down to 100 people.

I think the odds are pretty good that if things go well, you’ll be able to have more guests than that by November! I’d definitely reassess in August before you officially make a new plan, and by then you may be able to have all or close to all of the original list. Too early to make big changes that you may not need to make!

I would either do 100 this year

or plan B small wedding and next year plan the event, but problem is still risks for waiting with next year too.

Decide which one seems more reasonable to you that you can live with.

I haven't changed yet since mine is November.

But my plan B is going to be small ceremony and then small party in my backyard and postpone the venue till next year. Still hoping I can have it though even if I have to cut down the guest list.

I plan and hope for Options 2 or 3 until you re-evaluate in August!! Here's another discussion you can join as well with other brides to see what they're doing: Fall/winter Brides

I am also getting married in November. My date is actually day after yours lol. I’ve contacted the venue and as of NOW, they are allowing 50% of capacity. Our venue holds 200 people. So, we’d only be allowed to invite 100 people. I still plan on moving forward with my November date. I will assess in Aug. My plan B is we would still get married, but only with our closest friends and families & postpone the actual reception to sometime next year.

Thank you so much for the advice! I’m gonna see how everything is in August/September and go from there. 😊
